1. Parts of Internal Hardware
a. Motherboard- holds all major components of the computer, including the hard
drive, processor, memory and peripheral ports of USB.
b. Hard Drive- programs and files are stored. More traditional drives are called Hard
Disk Drive and comprised of a series of magnetized disk which stored the data. This
disk spins under magnetic arm which can read and write data.
c. Random Access Memory (RAM) - is the fast-aces memory that is cleared when the
computer is power-down. It is a set of integrated circuits that allow the stored data
to be accessed in any order.
d. Disk Array Controller- a device which manage the physical disk drive and presents
them to the computer as logic unit.
2. Parts of External Hardware
a. CRT monitor- visual interpretation of all that is happening. It is a kind of vacuum
which contains one or more electron guns, electrostatic deflection plates and
phosphor target which is located at the back of the glass screen.
b. Keyboard- it has buttons for all the letters of the alphabets as well as the number,
symbols, and special function keys.
c. Mouse- allows movement of the cursor on the screen. It allow the selection of icons
and links much more quickly and smoothly them on the keyboard.
d. Printer- a machine for printing paper documents. This includes paper especially one
linked to a computer.
3. What is Telecommunication?
Telecommunication uses telephone lines, cables, satellites and wireless connection to
connect computers and other devices to the World Wide Web. It occurs when the
exchange of information between communication participants includes the use of
technology. It transmitted through a transmission media, such as over physical media.
