Le Petit Prince, sometimes known as The Little Prince, is a fantasy and modern classic written by

French aviator and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and first published in 1943 with his own pictures.

The central topic of The Little Prince is the importance of delving behind the surface to discover the

underlying truth and meaning of something.

The story begins when a plane crashes in the Sahara Desert, where the pilot, who serves as the

narrator, meets and befriends the main character, Little Prince. Little Prince is a little alien from the

small planet Asteroid B-621. He's been tending to his rose, whom he regards as his most dear

The story's hidden meaning is that while many things are similar, it is the essence and our

handling that distinguishes it. The fox adds, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: what is
