Introduction

Recently, I have joined Belhasa Consulting Group which is based in the United Arab Emirates, which is one of the leading Project Management Consultancy within the region. I’ve been recruited as an assistant project manager; I have been giving a scenario to consider in order to ensure my project management skills. I’m required to prove for handling and applying a project through undertaking small- scale research on the topic of “the key Cyber Security risks of working remotely” .

Devising project aims and objectives for a chosen scenario

The definition of IT project management The goal of project management is to achieve agreed-upon project goals within parameters within the project acceptance criteria while incorporating procedures, techniques, skills, knowledge, and experience. As part of project management, the final output is bounded by timeframes and budgets. Compared to management, which is a continuous activity, one of the key differences between project management and management is its defined end result and timeline. Due to this, a project manager is required to possess a range of skills, which may include technical expertise, people management and marketing competencies. The importance of Project Management There can never be enough emphasis on project management in businesses. A well-designed process improves the performance of a business from every angle. Hence, everyone is able to focus their efforts on what matters instead of being distracted by misaligned tasks and uncontrolled finances. When employees are empowered, the company can produce results directly affecting its bottom line. Furthermore, it allows employees to see how their actions contribute to the achievement of the company's strategic goals. Why Businesses use Project Management The ultimate objective of project management is to create an end product that produces a certain degree of modification that benefits the company that initiated the project. The end result can only be achieved by initiating, planning, and implementing a variety of activities. Formal management is required for:

· Create a tangible or intangible product of some sort · Be limited in timeline: begins and ends · Involve groups or responsibilities that are likely to be complex · Require changing management The following benefits result from effective project management: · Increasing the chances of project success · Taking advantage of resources efficiently and effectively · Finding ways to meet the needs of all stakeholders in the project When Project Management is used by businesses Whenever a company wants to meet a set of standards within a given budget and time frame, a project is started. Projects differ from everyday operations. In order to accomplish project goals, a team of people must be temporarily gathered. The success of the project depends on the quality of the teamwork. To accomplish certain project objectives, a temporary group of individuals must be gathered. Teamwork is therefore key to completing productive projects. The task of managing projects entails the coordination of different activities to achieve a particular objective. A variety of factors determine the manner in which work is handle It is clear that this activity is of considerable importance, and it is also complex and difficult: moving a small office and organizing the Olympics are both essentially similar, but

those issues are very different. There are many ways to present objectives.

 Outputs (such as a new HQ building)  Outcomes (Such as staff being relocated from numerous locations to the new HQ)  Benefits (such as reduced travel costs)  Strategic objectives (such as doubling the organization share price in three years) The core components of Project Management  Determining the reasonEstimating resources and timescales, capturing project management, specifying quality deliverables, and capturing project timeframesPreparing a business case to support investment decisionsObtaining funding from corporate managementIgniting, motivating, and leading project teamsThe creation and implementation of a project management planIdentifying and resolving risks and issues

Feasibility Study: This document evaluates the resources required to finish the project and contrasts these to the capabilities accessible to the business. In this method, the development's timeframe but also cost are assessed, including when it is the best alternative for the company. If the project satisfies these two criteria, the following step in the initiation stage is to develop a project charter, also known as a project initiation document (PID), which contains an overview of the project 's goals, participants, and business case. Phase 2: Project Planning As part of the project's planning phase, a thorough description of the project's goals and objectives is developed. In those situations, a project manager's ability to lead is tested. There are many factors to consider when planning a project.  Establishing the project scope  identifies the tasks that need to be performed  for determining the timeline for completing the project  Workflow Scheduling  Determining and allocating the resources needed The five stages of project planning are crucial for the team to understand, and they are crucial to project success as a manager. Phase 3: Execution A meticulously planned project plan becomes a tangible deliverable at this point in the creative stage. A kick-off meeting would provide everyone with an overview of the goals, after which each member of the team would be advised of their responsibilities. For the PM as well as the team, project execution includes:  Development of individual task strands  Obtaining necessary resources  Allocating tasks to the team members  Performing tasks  Delivering on time  Keeping processes up-to-date Phase 4: Monitoring An effective project manager serves as a link between the ground-level team and other stakeholders who may not be interested in the minute details of the day-to-day operations. Because of this, it is crucial that a project manager monitors and records progress so that the project can be verified as running smoothly. Monitoring the progress of a project can be achieved by utilizing KPIs, such as timeliness, budget adherence, and delivery success. Regardless of what combination is used, it should be monitored and used equally so stakeholders can understand how progress is made on the project.

Phase 5: Project Closure The final deliverables typically given delivered or go online at this point of the project management process. This stage allows the project manager, staff, and stakeholders to assess how effective the project was or what lessons was learnt along the way. It's also an advisable to set up a continuous procedure for capturing and formalizing this information and feeding it directly through into project management system. For exploiting previous works and team work, tools which provide audit trail as well as a manner of documenting what's happened are essential. Flexible systems which can easily accommodate modification are particularly effective because they can be improved fast and take use of fresh information.

Remote working

Remote work involves working outside of a traditional office setting, allowing employees to work from home or another location. Working at a particular location may not be necessary in order to remain effective. Since remote workers are not required to travel to an office every day, they may accomplish tasks and meet their objectives wherever they choose. Workers can plan their schedules in a way that allows them to coexist happily in their professional and personal lives. The internet has allowed remote workers to gain greater independence from traditional workplaces, which has led to a transformation in what society considers an acceptable workplace.

How remote working works

There are many ways to work from home. Remote work provides people with a lot of flexibility in terms of how they work. Depending on the work arrangement, some workers are able to work from home most of the week, but must attend meetings in-person once a week. They are usually based at home or at local cafés, but they can also take advantage of their company's office if necessary. Flexible work schedules are popular with remote employees. They are able to choose their own schedules and to work when they are most productive or creative. Many remote employees choose to leave their usual schedules behind or continue on their adventure. The work abroad will renew their energy, broaden their horizons, and give them the chance to collaborate with a wider network, whether through travel and work programs or DIY travel.

The impact of remote working on the environment

For years, there's been an increase in the desire for freedom in how and where workers perform. However, it was mainly seen as a one-time labor cycle, similar to freelance. Owing to the pandemic as well as the resulting physical limits, it accelerated dramatically around March 2020. Working from home

attackers acted as organizations raced to provide cybersecurity with remote workers in March 2020. Cybercriminals exploited the increased security weaknesses caused by several firms' failure to implement remote work security measures. INTERPOL, for instance, discovered a considerable rise in the amount of critical infrastructure, government, and huge corporations attacked via hackers through its study of COVID-19's effect on cyber crime. It discovered 48,000 harmful Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), 907,000 spamming emails, and 737 virus occurrences associated to COVID during January and April 2020. These statistics highlight the importance of firms regularly motivating their staff about how to preserve security whilst working remotely. File sharing Remote employees are more inclined to be using file-sharing platforms to distribute documents and files among their coworkers. Whenever these data is held within enterprise networks, they are expected to be encrypted. Whenever shared remotely, nevertheless, the same amount of safety may well not operate. Distributing confidential material via file-sharing platforms exposes data to becoming captured or seized by hackers, particularly whilst data is in motion. Data theft, identify theft, and computer hacking can all happen as a consequence of the loss of important organizational data. Weak passwords The continued use of inadequate, unsecure, or reused passwords and login identities is among the most serious hazards to firms' remote workforces. The inability to utilize safe passwords renders cybersecurity technology as well as systems such as firewalls and virtual private networks ineffective (VPNs). Thieves could utilize software to break login details but also gain access to classified company data. For instance, hackers could assemble massive lists of popular passwords to get administrative privileges or develop algorithms which leverages several password variations to correctly guess login credentials. Another popular strategy is to attempt to enter their business account logins using passwords they believe someone used for a further accounts, including a private email or social media site. Un-Secure WiFi Business Wi-Fi networks are typically safe because they are protected by secure firewalls that detect and prohibit malicious activity. Remote employees, on the other hand, have unsecured Wi-Fi access to business networks and systems. Many people, for example, regularly upgrade their phone firmware or antivirus software, yet they rarely upgrade their home routers. This could expose their home network to a security compromise, jeopardizing company data security. Ransomware Ransomware is a sort of malware wherein cyber thieves employ encryption to prevent people from accessing their own data or equipment. Hackers often assume command of a system and attempt to erase, damage, or disclose data until a ransom has been paid. The fundamental goal of ransomware is to blackmail or defraud individuals. They are frequently propagated by scam emails which include malware programs which corrupt a device but also subsequently encrypted files or perhaps even whole devices. Some ransomware assaults rely on social engineering or drive-by downloads to direct victims to fake websites which download malicious code on their computers. Personal devices

Utilizing personal devices to access to company networks and systems is among the most major safety hazards of remote working. Such devices frequently lack the comparable layer of safety as a business PC or laptop. Personal telephones may not always employ encryption to secure personal information, while household printers could expose security holes which hackers may attack.

Ways to stay secure

Through adhering to recognized remote work best security practices, home-based employees may remain safe but also safeguard their personal and business data. The top cybersecurity strategies listed below would staff in keeping their devices and networks secure against malicious hackers: Using antivirus Antivirus software contributes to remote worker security. Malicious hackers use sophisticated known attacks such as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), malware, ransomware, and spyware to attack residential networks. Antivirus software aids throughout the battle against such dangers through recognizing, classifying, and stopping infections, misleading schemes, and zero-day assaults without infiltrating the network. A thorough antivirus approach integrates regular changes to ensure that it is informed of and eliminates the most recent new security threats. As a result, enterprises may proactively protect distant work equipment and personnel. Using Internet security To safeguard their equipment, remote employees should be using complete internet security tools, including cloud storage, identity protection, authentication systems, encrypted web browsers, as well as Virtual private networks, in additional to antivirus. Secure home networking Home networking is fundamentally less secured than networks to which employees access in the workplace. Wi-Fi networks arrive with a preset passwords which is frequently possible for an attacker to guess. Remote workers must develop a customized password, that they could quickly change simply entering the router's address, like "192.168.1.1," into their web browser. Clients could also alter the hostname, or service set identifier (SSID), to make it much harder for a hacker to recognize as well as connect to the network. Using strong and secure passwords Each login should have a different password that has never been utilized for other website, is at minimum 12 characters in length, that contains a mix of letters, digits, and special symbols. Clients can also think about using a password manager, that enables users to apply better secure, different passwords for their numerous accounts without recalling them constantly. Conclusion Although there are some evident benefits and drawbacks to remote employment, the benefits far exceed the drawbacks. Furthermore, we could definitely stop all of the downsides by implementing the proper remote working tactics and providing our staff with remote work solutions which will allow them to be successful and efficient especially when working from home. Produce a project management plan

the project proposes to solve the problem using new technology. In this given scenario I can explore the problems of working remotely provide it to businesses however also show how those problems could be fixed Objectives The Objectives section of the plan outlines the project's particular goals as well as any deliverables. If general hardware improvements for software usage are indeed the purpose, the particular objective could be the adoption of new chips and video card to use next-generation 3D model rendering programs. In this given scenario my goal is to find out what employees feel about remote working Quality A quality management plan is a piece of documentation that helps the project manager and team carry out quality management and quality assurance responsibilities. In the context of project management, quality is described as meeting task criteria as well as meeting consumer expectations. A quality management plan should be included in an overall project plan, which describes the actions that clients will take to meet the project's quality standards throughout its life cycle. Such operations are explicitly described in the quality management strategy (as well as the resources required to carry these out). In these scenario it will be about making the client feel comfortable during an interview for instance. Resources Physical, economic, and human resources are all part of the plan's resources. It must specify any actual items as well as physical space required for the project. The percentage of employees with the required skill sets must be indicated here. This portion of the strategy must include a cost estimate for physical resources, labor, and workplaces. Risks To enable for risk management, the hazards parts must include relevant elements which might impede or disrupt the operation. Mentioning potential ordinance amendments throughout the risk section enables the firm to request exemption status ahead of schedule if they might boost the expenses of a building project. In this given scenario it could be that an employer could reject doing the interview due to a variety of reasons or may not do the survey as they may find it tedious or time consuming. Communication A project management communication strategy outlines where sensitive data will be supplied to project stakeholders during the project's lifespan. It also determines who may receive the communication, whether they will receive it, if they will receive it, and how frequently they should expect to hear it. Schedule

The project plan should at the very least comprise a project timeline with milestones as well as an estimate of project length. The strategy may include precise task needs for important milestones, which are often laid out in a spreadsheet. Unexpected occurrences must be accommodated in schedules and including a time gap. Evaluation The evaluation section outlines the requirements for project success. This could contain a simple checklists including adhering to the project timeline, maintaining within budget, including completing status reports. Inside the case of computer hardware, one evaluation criterion could be that all updated PCs can execute a given software package.

Producing a work breakdown structure and a Gantt Chart to provide

timeframes and stages for completion.

The definition of work breakdown structure The work breakdown structure (WBS) is a visual, hierarchy-driven model for categorizing deliverables within a project. The chart is beneficial for project managers since it gives them an idea of how their different projects are interdependent and how they need to work together. All project work processes are outlined in a work breakdown structure chart, making it an essential tool in project planning. The WBS diagram also includes the project deliverables, but also the tasks and work packages that need to be completed for it to be successful. Levels below the WBS diagram identify activities, deliverables, and work packages to represent the scope of the project. Why WBS is used In order to construct a project schedule, the first step is to create the work breakdown structure (WBS). In order for the project's goals and objectives to be met, the plan specifies which tasks must be completed (and in what order). Viewing the project in this manner helps us understand the scope of our project and allocate resources efficiently. Well-designed work breakdown structures facilitate critical project management processes and knowledge areas such as  Project Planning, Project Scheduling and Project Budgeting  Risk management, resource management, task management Furthermore, a work breakdown structure (WBS) aids in the avoidance of frequent project management challenges including constant delays, scope creep, and cost overruns, amongst many others. To put it another way, it becomes our map of how to complete difficult tasks. Even sub-projects can be organized into tasks, deliverables, and work packages as part of the project scope! In managing those items, we can use the work breakdown structure (WBS) to gain clarity on the details required to complete every part of our project scope. My WBS example

Above shows my Gantt Chart, I designed based on the chosen scenario.

Carrying out small-scale research by applying qualitative and

quantitative research methods appropriate for meeting project aims

and objectives

When it comes to data collection and analysis, quantitative research is concerned to statistics and numbers, whereas qualitative research is concerned with word meanings. Both are necessary for acquiring various types of knowledge. Quantative Research Quantitative research is expressed using numbers and graphs. It is used to validate or test theories and hypotheses. This research method could be used to find more relevant information about a subject. Experiments, numerical documentation of findings, and surveys with closed-ended questions are examples of common quantitative methods. Qualitative Research Words are used to express qualitative research. It's being used to comprehend ideas, thinking, or perspectives. This type of research helps to gain in-depth knowledge about subjects which are not very well comprehended. Interviews with open-ended questions, findings mentioned in sentences, and literature reviews which investigate ideas and techniques are all prevalent qualitative methods.

Differences between applying qualitative and quantitative

Quantitative Research Qualitative Research Focuses on testing idea and formulating theories and hypothesis Focuses on testing idea and formulating theories and hypothesis Analyzed by statistics and mathematics Analyzed by summarizing, categorizing and interpreting Mainly expressed in numbers, graphs and graphs Mainly expressed in words Requires many respondents Requires fewer respondents Closed (Multiple Choice) Questions Open-ended questions Key terms: testing, measurement, objectivity, replicability Key terms: understanding, context, complexity, subjectivity Types of Quantitative Research Experimental Research This research method relies on a theory and is also known as true experimentation. According to its name, experimental research examines a theory or theories. Past proof hasn't been provided for this theory and it's merely a supposition. To prove or disprove a statement, experimental research involves a systematic analysis. Natural sciences are conducted using this methodology. There is greater effectiveness in traditional research methods. Experimental research allows for multiple explanations. Theories can be verified or disproved. Correlation research A analysis of the two entities is unavoidable. Correlation research is performed to demonstrate a relationship among two closely related entities, how one influences another, but also what adjustments are ultimately identified. This quantitative methodology is used to assign a monetary value to preexisting connections, and it requires at least two distinct groups to be passed out effectively. A connection between the two groups or entities should be formed without implying numerous components. Researchers use this quantitative research concept to correlate two or more independent variables using mathematical analytical techniques. From their initial configuration, patterns, connections, and developments among variables have been deduced. The effect of one of these variables on another is determined, as well as how the relationship between two variables changes. To achieve the goals, researchers usually try to influence one of the variables. It is best not to make judgments solely on the basis of correlational research. This is even though it is not required that two variables be within aligned to be interconnected. Survey It seems that survey method is the most important foundation device among all quantitative end result research methods and experiments. An online survey, a paper survey, a web survey, and so on, are forms of surveying a sample of survey participants. No matter what size the business is, many companies are interested in finding out what consumers expect about their offerings, as well as how additional

are mainly conducted to gather answers to "why," "what," and "how" questions. Focus groups offer an additional benefit because participants do not have to socialize with the group in person. The focus groups can presently be contacted online for feedback on a variety of platforms, and feedback can be collected quickly and easily. Focus groups are more expensive than other qualitative methods on the internet. The purpose of these groups is to clarify critical procedures. Researching new commodities and testing new ideas with this method is extremely beneficial. Qualitative Observation A qualitative observation is a way of obtaining methodical information or data by employing a variety of subjective methods and techniques. As qualitative observation deals with the methods and techniques used for gathering information, the focus seems to be on how the information or data is collected. Qualitative observation is most often used in order to compare and contrast important differences. Our five senses contribute to qualitative observation, including sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing. Here, we are not dealing with numbers or measurements, but with characteristics. Record keeping As the source of data, this methodology allows utilization of already established dependable records and comparable pieces of knowledge. This information could be used in future studies. This is comparable to visiting a library. Here anyway, one can look through books as well as other bibliographies to gather relevant information which will most presumably be included in the investigation.

Analyzing research and data using appropriate tools and techniques

In this section, I will use the survey technique for the quantitive method. I’ve chosen the survey for multiple reasons I found it the fastest way to obtain results, it is also more beneficial as it has fewer time constraints. In addition it also offers a straightforward analysis, I also find it the most practical solution for data gathering. I also find it the most inexpensive method to conduct research. I will now show the results of the survey. Survey Link : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfnsw_o7gkVGthwQTUqY- qbkfelJhYfynN3XaP3Ug4xqNogFw/viewform?usp=sf_link Slide 1
