ARITHMETICAL FORMULAE WITH THEIR EXAMPLES QUESTIONS AND
ANSWERS
1. SQUARE
(a) Area of a Square = Side Squared
(b) Perimeter of Square = Side x 4
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS & ANSWER
(1a) Find the area of a Square with a side of 4cm
ANSWER: If one side of the Square is 4cm, then the area of the Square is 4
squared (4x4) = 16cm squared
(1b) Find the Perimeter of a Square of a side 12cm
ANSWER: If one side of the Square is 12cm, then to find the perimeter of
the Square using the formular above; (12x4) = 48cm
2. RECTANGLE:
(a) Area of Rectangle = Length x Breadth (LXB)
(b) Length of Rectangle = Area divided by the Breadth (A/B)
(c) Breadth of Rectangle = Area divided by the Length (A/L)
(d) Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) 2(L+B)
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS & ANSWER
(2a) Find the area of a Rectangle with length 10cm and breadth 6cm
ANSWER: If the length of the Rectangle is 10cm and the breadth is 6 cm,
then to find the area of the Rectangle using the formular above “Length
multiply by breadth (LXB), 10 X 6= 60cm squared
(2b) Find the Length of a Rectangle with Area 24cm squared and Breadth
4cm.
ANSWER: If the Area of the Rectangle is 24cm squared and the Breadth
4cm, then to find the Length of the Rectangle using the above mentioned
formular: Area divided Breadth: A/B, (24/4) = 6cm
(2c) Find the breadth of a Rectangle with Area 40cm squared and Length
5cm.
ANSWER: If the Area of the Rectangle is 40cm squared and the Length 5cm,
