Learning Activity Sheet #4
Mendelian Genetics
Punnett Square
Competency: Predict phenotypic expressions of traits following simple patterns of inheritance (S8LT-IVf-18)
Direction: Read the situation carefully and make a Punnett square to show the cross and predict the offspring
(phenotypes and genotypes).
1. In dogs, stickup ears (E) are dominant over dropped ears (e). A homozygous stickup-eared dog is
mated with a homozygous dropped-eared dog.
2. Oval face (O) in man is dominant over round face (o). If a homozygous oval-faced man marries a
heterozygous round-faced woman.
3. A homozygous red Santan flower (RR) is crossed with a homozygous pink Santan flower (rr).
4. Show the dihybrid cross of both hybrid/heterozygous tall, green mango (TtGg).
