Can sort notes with dividers within subjects. Can select which PDF pages to import. Cut and paste handwritten notes. Erases handwritten notes with one strike- through, but no partial erasing option. Notes Plus $9. Allows the user to record basic audio notes. Can draw figures which can be imported as an entire image. Can make multiple notebooks and folders that are really cool and customizable. Can select which PDF pages to import. Lots of different options for pens/handwriting - change stroke type, size, color. Extended palm rest options for less usual handwriting styles, as well as left- handed support. Records audio notes and sorts them by page. Smoothing of shapes/lines (can turn off). Audio doesn’t follow along with handwritten notes, like a Smartpen does, nor does it sync with typed text. No select option - can't delete large portion of page at once. Handwriting recognition ($2.99) Evernote Free Good for transferring documents between computer and iPad easily. However, not as good as others for organizing notes. Automatically syncs notes between computer and iPad with Evernote account. Several different types of notes - regular, checklist, photo (can take picture of notebook, post-it note, or business card and make it searchable). Create shortcuts for commonly-used notes/notebooks. Syncs with calendar to provide notifications for certain documents, like checklists. You have to create an account to use it. Can back up to many different cloud platforms. Easy to maneuver/resize the PDFs. Form-fill compatible. Can export PDFs through multiple platforms. Can open PDFs from email/internet. Can annotate PDFs using a pen function. Can move pages of a PDF around within the document. Text to speech capabilities. Review mode (similar to Word). Can edit (export, delete, etc.) multiple PDFs at once. Can copy/export a few pages of the entire PDF. Can rotate pages. Can't create own PDFs/notes. Need to have at least one of the services to connect PDFs to the programs, either email, Dropbox, iTunes, etc.

While it is useful for to-do lists and short notes, this app may not be ideal for typing longer class notes. Syncs with Evernote and Google Drive. Calendar section syncs with appropriate notes. Add pictures from camera as notes. Plenty of categories for organization. View the day on which notes were created via the calendar. Good for quick notes/to-do lists. Only typing, not handwriting. Not ideal for class notes.
Corkulous Pro $4. Creates corkboards on which notes, photographs, and other media can be organized and edited. Can drag items and slide anything around. Exports as PDF. Interactive checklists, notecards, tape, post- its, contacts, and photo uploads! Attractive and easy to use user interface. Can organize in collections (Dropbox, Cloud, and iTunes). Insert secondary corkboards within primary corkboard. Can’t see secondary boards if you export the main one as a PDF. Corkulous (Free) MindNode $9. A versatile mindmapping tool with many customization options. Nodes can be organized manually or automatically. Wide variety of visual and color options. Apply settings to individual nodes or entire mindmap. Can edit mindmap through an outline view. Can email mindmaps as images. Very single-function. Can’t type outside of node text boxes.
Educreations Free A virtual whiteboard that allows you to record a presentation which syncs with audio. Can simultaneously record presentation and write. Images can be used as background, and you can write on any element. Can view lots of other people’s public lessons. Can’t change thickness of markers, but can change colors. Can’t edit lessons and can’t save if you don’t hit record.
