Stroke is a silent killer as it can happen to anyone regardless of age, at anytime, anywhere. For the lack of stroke education and awareness, the majority of Filipinos are not educated and were not aware of it, particularly on what to see and to act before, during and after the stroke attack of an individual. Project SP provides everyone, focusing on the child of elders about the basic knowledge on stroke attack detection, possible stroke risk factors and ways to reduce its risk. The instruments of this project are infographics (posted on facebook), google forms and stroke riskometer app.
TARGET OBJECTIVES ✔ Clients will know the symptoms of a stroke attack and the actions to be acted during the attack. ✔ Clients will be able to identify who is at risk of stroke as they will know their elders' risk factors. ✔ Clients will be motivated to monitor their elder's health by checking and reminding them the ways to reduce their stroke risk factors and its symptoms. PROCEDURES The procedures of Project SP are organized by
The main inspiration of this project is my father who is a stroke survivor. I have seen him having a stroke attack without me and my mother knowing what is happening to him. For this lack of awareness and knowledge to stroke symptoms, we have not reached the hospital at the earliest moment. I remember that he is only complaining about his headache and his body temperature is similar to a person who has a fever. We have observed that maybe it is just a simple fever but after 2 hours he is not clearly responding. So, it takes 3 hours for us to know that he must be brought to the hospital. Another hindrance to him is that he was attacked by stroke in the midst of a pandemic which is very difficult to have you treated at this time even if you are seen as emergency. He was discharged after 10 days of hospitalization but, sad to say, for now he is a bedridden person. As his daughter and family, I have been experiencing sufferings & difficulties as a carer of him. From this experience, I wanted to help everyone like me who has no knowledge and is not aware of stroke risks and symptoms as well as the ways to reduce the risk by making and posting infographics on Facebook.
The creation of infographics are completely done at Visme online website, dated, March 18 - 19 of 2021. The final look of infographics are seen below……
The infographics are posted on March 20, 2021 at facebook with the following engagements : ➔ 185 reactions (the collection of reactions includes Like, Love, and Care) ➔ 98 comments (including mentions but majority are clients’ comments to the infographics) ➔ 53 shares (some of clients’ share posts do not appear because of the their privacy settings) ➔ other shares (clients share posts through story and messenger)
On 2021 of March 21, I selected 10 from 98 commenters for a 5 days application report. They will provide photos or details on Google form of how they applied the infographics. The google form provided to them is given on the last day of the application phase.
