essential to maintain professionalism to provide the best support to the client and their family
during such distressing times.
Acknowledging Emotions:
First and foremost, I must acknowledge my own emotions. Recognizing and accepting that
feelings of sadness, empathy, or even helplessness are natural responses is crucial. This
acknowledgment allows me to process my feelings constructively rather than suppressing them.
I find it helpful to engage in reflective practices, such as journaling or discussing these feelings
with trusted colleagues, to ensure I do not carry the emotional weight alone.
