The economy went berserk as many restaurants and corporations were running out of business because of the 18th amendment. This Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment. Reason 24th - - REASON: This Amendment was created in order to abolish a major loophole in the 15th Amendment. Reason 25th - - REASON: This Amendment was created merely to define an order of succession if the Vice President were to be unable to do his job. Reason 26th - - REASON: Was made in result of the 1970 case "Oregon v. Mitchell". This was also a result of a movement to try to lower the voting age. Reason 27th - - REASON: This amendment was originally proposed in 1789 by James Madison, along with the Bill of Rights. It was, at first, rejected. The 27th amendment itself prevents representatives from the house of representatives from having salary increases until after the elections.
