1.1 Purpose: ๏‚— Online Entrance Examination System is very useful for Educational Institute to prepare an exam. ๏‚— It will save the time spent in checking the paper and doing the paperwork.

1.2 Scope: The system that is to be developed provides the related information on different types of users. The scope of the project can be listed as under: ๏‚— Create users. ๏‚— Login and logout. ๏‚— Access to the various information. ๏‚— Choose a course to take examination. ๏‚— (^) Support multiple choices questions. ๏‚— Verify a security, authority and safety.

2. The Overall Description: Product Function: The Online Entrance Examination System will allow: ๏‚— (^) Login to the system through the first page of the application. ๏‚— The system will help the admin to generate an automatic exam. ๏‚— Addition/deletion/updation of questions and answers by the admin. ๏‚— (^) The system saves the answers and will calculate the marks of correct answers and thus, will give the total marks after the exam is over. ๏‚— There will be a database management to store and retrieve the information needed by the administrator. ๏‚— (^) Logout from the system.

2.1.4 Communication Interface: ๏‚— Client on Internet will be using HTTP/HTTPS Protocol. ๏‚— Client on intranet will be using TCP/IP Protocol.

2.2 User Characteristics: The users of "Online Entrance Examination System" should be computer literate. The users of this software can be categorized as following: ๏‚— Students: These types of users are the pupils who have enrolled in different courses. ๏‚— Administrator: These types of users are basically the administrator of the whole system. They can change any data at any time without creating any confusion for the rest of the users. They also create the question papers for the exam of various courses and update them, whenever needed.
