Vertex - The highest or lowest point of a parabola.
Maximum - The vertex of a parabola that is the highest point.
Minimum - The vertex of a parabola that is the lowest point.
Increasing values - The part of the parabola where the y values get larger.
Decreasing values - The part of the parabola where the y values get smaller.
y - intercept of a parabola - The point where a parabola crosses the y-axis. The x
coordinate is zero.
x-intercept of a parabola - The point or points where a parabola crosses the x-axis. The
y coordinates are zero. Also known as ZEROS
Line of Symmetry - The vertical line that goes through the vertex of the parabola. It cuts
the parabola into two mirror images of each other.
Symmetric Points of a parabola - Points on a parabola that have the same y value.
