Personal Assessment: 8 Dimensions of Wellness In my belief, the three factors that have a high likelihood of improving people’s health care are based on the spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness of someone. In my belief, each of these dimensions is core to the wellness of an individual (Strout, & Howard, 2012). Emotional wellness makes it easy for someone to deal with both negative and positive feelings they are experiencing and therefore makes it easy for someone to engage in behaviors that boost their health. Emotional wellness is the root of someone’s personality and therefore when someone can manage their emotions well they can have a healthy individuality (Strout, & Howard, 2012). Physical wellness is about taking healthy behaviors such as eating a balanced diet, exercising, having enough sleep and rest. This dimension is important as people that have physical health demonstrate a less likelihood of a decline in their cognitive functions during old age (Strout, & Howard, 2012). Physical wellness at a young age such as teenage years makes it likely that someone will not have a significant cognitive function in old age. Physical wellness, therefore, does not only benefit someone during their younger years but also in old age. Spiritual wellness is also another dimension from the results that is important for the overall health of an individual. People who have spiritual wellness usually look at the present and the future and know the true meaning of living and meeting the expectations from the deity and therefore engage in activities that make them in good health condition to serve their God. I chose physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness since they are the three that I focus on to make sure my health improves. By exercising, praying, and eating healthy, I feel that the three dimensions will be met in my life.
