1. Define in your own words the meaning of curriculum based on the different points of view. Make
three statements to sum of the meaning of curriculum.
A curriculum is the set of programs offered by any educational institutions and they are made up of
different subjects and activities that push towards a certain goal.
-Curriculum is a framework that sets expectations for student learning. It serves as a guide for teachers,
a roadmap if you will, that establishes standards for student performance and the teacher
accountability.
-A curriculum is the combination of instructional practices, learning experiences, and students’
performance assessment that are designed to bring out and evaluate the target learning outcomes of a
particular course.
- A course of study that will enable the learner to acquire specific knowledge and skills.

Caswell and Campbell - all experiences children have under the guidance of a teacher. Basic education should emphasize the 3Rs and tertiary education should be grounded on liberal education. Arthur Bestor - Believes that the mission of the school should be intellectual training hence should focus on, The fundamental intellectual disciplines of grammar, literature and writing. Should also include mathematics, science, history and foreign language. Joseph Schwab - He emphasize that curriculum should consist only of the knowledge Wich come from discipline.

  2. Is it necessary for teachers to learn about school curriculum? Why? Yes, it is very important for the teacher to learn and understand about the school curriculum. Because a school curriculum will always help the teacher to adjust in the environment better. The curriculum process provides opportunity for teachers to be creative and put their unique stamp on the classroom experience.
  3. How do you feel based on the different roles of being “the teacher as a curricularist.” -I am amazed because a teacher job is not easy ,they know how to teach children inside and outside of school and facilitate students learning effectively and always having a plan how to create active learning environment. Teacher always challenge her self and always aim for her learners for the best learning.
