Let us not be govern so much on what is happening today in our country, hence, we strive to educate ourselves in any way we can. I am Anabelle R. Mito, your podcast teacher from Calog Norte Elementary School. Relax, have fun and enjoy learning with me the Place Value and Value of a Digit in Numbers up to 100 000 SEGMENT 3: PRESENTATION Our lesson focuses on the place value and value of its digit in a number. The value of its digit depends on its position that it occupies in a larger number. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 0 are called digits and they can be combined to form different group of numbers. I am going to read a situation, I want you to listen carefully because later on you will be asked for a several questions.
JMSA Foundation donated 25 364 food packs which include half-sack of rice, canned goods, noodles and a tray of eggs to the residents of Barangay Calog Norte who were affected by the ongoing enhanced community quarantine because of the COVID-19 threat. Number 1 question; What is the name of the foundation? The name of the foundation isJMSA Foundation. Second question. What foods are included in the food packs? The foods that are included in the food packs are half- sack of rice, canned goods, noodles and a tray of eggs. Third question.. How many food packs were donated? There were 25 364 food packs donated. Fourth question. If you were given a chance to donate food packs to the needy, how do you feel? If given a chance, I feel grateful that I can help And the last question is Why it is important to help others in need? It is important to help others in need because no man is an island and someday we might need other people’s help. SEGMENT 4: DISCUSSION Dear learners, let us go deeper on the meaning of place value and value of the digits within a larger number. But before that, there are some important terms you must learn and remember in giving the place value and value of a digit of a number up to 100 000: Identify the place value in which the digit belongs to as ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands. The place value of a digit is always 10 times
