Poetry vocab Enjambment- the running over of a sentence or a phrase from one poetic line to the next Ex: “ I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree.” Juxtaposition- showing contrast by concepts placed side by side Ex: Tiresias, the blind prophet in Antigone Synecdoche- a figure of speech in which a part is used to refer to a whole Ex: “ the caption commands one hundred sails.”
