The Babylonians are known for their large-scale buildings, including the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The civilization, which began around 2300 B.C., was mainly focused on the god Marduk and ended in 539 B.C. when it fell to the Persians under Cyrus the Great.

Who are the Babylonian Civilization Babylonia was a state in ancient Mesopotamia. The city of Babylon ruins are located in Iraq. it was founded more than 4,000 years ago as a small port town on the Euphrates River. It grew into one of the largest cities of the ancient world under the rule of Hammurabi
The Babylonians were well known for their large scale buildings. they are said to have constructed The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Hanging Gardens were an ascending series of tiered gardens containing a wide variety of trees shrubs, and vines. What are the Babylonians known for?
What were the religious beliefs of the Babylonians? Babylonia mainly focused on the god Marduk, who is the national god of the Babylonian empire. However, there were also other gods that were worshipped. Nergal - God of the underworld, Tiamat - Goddess of the sea and 3 thousand others
What caused the fall of Babylon? In 539 .B.C. the empire fell to the Persians under Cyrus the Great at the Battle of Opis. Babylon's walls were impregnable and so the Persians cleverly devised a plan whereby they diverted the course of the Euphrates River so that it fell to a manageable depth.
