Pronouns replace nouns in a sentence. There are three kinds of pronouns: subject pronouns, object pronouns, and possessive pronouns.
Subject pronouns are used as the subject. Object pronouns are used as objects of verbs or prepositions. Possessive pronouns show ownership.

Example: Mary and (me, I) went shopping. The correct answer is “I” because you would not say, “Me went shopping.”
Example: She is smarter than I (am).
He is as talkative as I (am).
