1- Formal and informal greetings

 (^) 你《 nǐ 》 = you (singular , informal)  (^) 您《 nín 》 = you (singular , formal)  (^) 好《 hǎo 》 = good , well , fine  (^) 你好《 nǐ hǎo 》 = Hello (informal greeting)  (^) 您好《 nín hǎo 》 = Hello (formal greeting, polite form)

3- Asking « how are you » and answering

it:

 (^) 你好吗《 nǐ hǎo ma 》 = How are you ?  (^) 吗《 ma 》 = this word is used at the end of the 《 yes|no 》 questions  (^) 我 《 wǒ 》 = I , me  (^) 很《 hěn 》 = very  (^) 我很好《 wǒ hěn hǎo 》 = I am fine  (^) 呢 《 ne 》 = what about … ? (used after a noun or pronoun)  (^) 你呢《 nǐ ne 》 = what about you ? And you ?  (^) 也 《 yě 》 = too , also (always placed after the subject)  (^) 我也很好 《 wǒ yě hěn hǎo 》 = I am fine too

 (^) 早上 《 zǎo shang 》 = early morning  (^) 早上好 《 zǎo shang hǎo 》 = good (early) morning  (^) 上午 《 shàng wǔ 》 = morning  (^) 上午好 《 shàng wǔ hǎo 》 = good morning  (^) 下午 《 xià wǔ 》 = afternoon  (^) 下午好 《 xià wǔ hǎo 》 = good afternoon  (^) 晚上《 wǎn shàng 》 = evening  (^) 晚上好 《 wǎn shàng hǎo 》 = good evening
