This is what you will be doing for this essay. For this assignment, you will be writing a reaction to the article “Body Rituals among the Nacirema”. A link to the article can be found on the resources page of my website if you have misplaced yours. Your reaction should express your thoughts and/or opinions about the information in the article, and should address a larger topic from the article in-­‐depth, as opposed to many shallow reactions to individual statements or ideas. Focus on one, two, or three major ideas from the article, explain your reaction, and explain your thinking for the reaction. Remember, I can only read and understand what is written on the paper. Suggestions:
  • React to content, not style (no commentary on difficulty or ease of reading, the length, enjoyability, humor, etc)
  • Clearly state original thoughts
  • Support your thoughts with specific information from the article and from your own life or experiences
  • Organize the information!
