In general, recount text is a text that
retells the reader about factual events in
the past.
Just like some other texts in English, the
purpose of recount text is informing and
entertaining the readers without the need to
add conflict.
Orientation = tells who was involved, what
happened, where the events took place,
and when it happened.
Events = tell what happened in
chronological sequence. (the core of
recount text)
Reorientation = consists of optional-closure
of events / ending.
Using past tenses (Monas was built in 1961).
Using specific participant (Monas was built
in 1961)
Using action verb (We visited Monas today)
Using temporal sequence (On Sunday, last
week, two days ago,...)
Using conjunctions (but, however, until,
after...)
