What did I learn from this lecture?
Honestly, this part of the course is already tackled when we are in Senior High
School since I took Accountancy, Business and Management as my strand but I’m very
thankful to this recorded lecture because I already forgot some vital part of our lessons
where we are in SHS. As I watch the lecture video, I learned that ancient people are
already using accounting in their day-to day life such as lading, recording transactions
and memorandums linked to accounting. I learned also how accounting evolved through
the years. I found out also how accounting emerged in the Philippines and how
accounting organizations/bodies was formed and organized. In addition to that, I grasp
also to the definition of accounting and its branches, how various nature of business
operates in the economy, and lastly the importance of accounting in the financial aspect
of the business.
The lecture also tackles about the various forms of business organizations and
how it functions in the business world. I learned what is their advantages and
disadvantages to each other, how it is formed and operated and the way they build their
capital structures. To summarize it all, I have lots of insights in the lecture video. I
believe these insights will be helpful and vital as we proceed to the other concepts of
basic/financial accounting and I know it will be helpful as an economics student and to
my future career also.
