First Reflection Paper -The Allegory of the Cave by Plato
To be passed on April 8, 2022 thru my UMak email.
Follow strictly the instructions.
1. What is the knowledge that is being learned inside the cave? (Answer in not
less the 3 sentences and not more than five sentences only.)
The knowledge that is being learned inside the cave is the Allegory of the Cave
demonstrates that the inmates know what objects are since they can name
shadows. This knowledge, on the other hand, is a perception based on the tangible
world and backed by incorrect beliefs, and hence is merely ignorance bolstered by
the information they've always had. We will only learn if we open our minds to
learn new things and to have knowledge of what the truth is.
2. How do we get our knowledge based on the allegory of the cave? (Answer in
not less the 3 sentences and not more than five sentences only.)
According to Allegory of the cave we can get our knowledge by going outside the
‘cave’ or simply on what we believe. Because when we step out from the dark to
the light which is the truth we will be awakened of what are the things that we do
not know about. In additional, never rely on thinking that the things you believe is
always the truth. We will not learn if we refuse to learn.
3. If the world you have learned to accept and the truth that surround yourself
with now, could all be changed, would you take the leap of faith to truly
understand what the truth is? (Answer in not less the 3 sentences and not more
than five sentences only.)
Yes, Because it is not wrong to continue learning and to be curious about some
things that you want to know more. And I know that aside from the knowledge that
I have right now about the truth, there are still something that I do not know about.
And also I learned in the Allegory of the cave that not all that we believe is always
the truth.
