RELIGIOUS ESSAYS 1. What makes a certain act moral? When can we say that it is good? | believe that understanding why you act, makes an action moral to some extent. To know if something complex is moral, we need to know not only the action but the cause, the mind-set of the person taking the action, and the intended effect. For an act to be morally good, one's intention must be good. 2. What makes a certain act immoral When can we say that it is not good? Immoral describes a person or behavior that conscientiously goes against accepted morals. We can say if one who acts contrary to or does not obey or conform to standards of moralit 3. Present the difference between ethics and morality by citing one concrete situation. Ethics is a map of how one makes choices. Morality is an established code that can be used to judge behavior. A lawyer’s morals may tell her that murder is reprehensible and that murderers should be punished, but her ethics as a professional lawyer, require her to defend her client to the best of her abilities, even if she knows that the client is guilty.
