Evaluation of a Mathematics Learning Device: Findings, Conclusions, and Recommendations, Thesis of Research Methodology

The findings, conclusions, and recommendations of a study evaluating a teaching device called Line Binomial Multiplier (LBM) used in a Grade 12 STEM B class. The device is assessed based on its content, visual aspects, mechanics, and durability. The document also includes recommendations for improving the device and managing time effectively.

Findings:
a) The calculated weighted mean in terms of its content are all 5.0 and has an average
weighted mean of 5.00 This simply means that the game possess the following; applies the
concept of Learning by Doing of Piaget; the game correctly uses the process for doing math
concepts and requires the students to use the process; it also teaches or reviews a topic in
an enjoyable way. The developed device is an effective tool in improving the conceptual
understanding of the students about the said topic.

IMMERSION

Teacher: Mr. Richard Riobaldez Date: 06/03/ b) With its visual aspects, it has an average weighted mean of 4.84, which means that the physical appearance of the device helps the learner understand more the concept presented; easy to set up; has an original design. c) The mechanics of this device revealed that have clear and easy to understand mechanics and gave a clear goal to the users for it has a weighted mean that ranges from 4.33 – 5. and interpreted as very adequate. The experts agreed that if the device will be given to students, they can guide them for they can explain to them how the device will be used and further supported by its average weighted mean of 4.67. d) In terms of its durability, it has an average weighted mean of 4.78. It simply implies that the device is durable; cannot be easily destroyed; and made from durable materials like the wood panel and nails. Conclusion: Based on the findings revealed, the following were the conclusions obtained: a) The developed device; LBM is a teaching device that became useful in solving problems that involves the real-life application of the topic binomial. b) The developed device was proven to be an effective tool in improving the conceptual understanding of the students about the said topic. c) The device was assessed to have good qualities especially in terms of content relevance, visual effect, usability and durability that totally motivated the learners to learn the lesson. Recommendations: For the improvement of the device, here are some suggestions and comments given by the teachers and students who used this device as learning and teaching in Mathematics: a) Future researchers can further improve this device and make it possible to include all kinds of multiplications

LEARNING CHALLENGE

Task 1

  1. Reference materials are varied sources that give background data or fast facts on any given topic.
  2. A reference listing is the particular listing of references which are referred to in a studies work.
  3. Reference Materials are beneficial for brief truth checking and for historical past information.
