STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The role of mass media in a given society is to inform, educate and entertain.
Therefore, the mass media is responsible for the sensitization of the public about
covid-19 pandemic. In Anyigba Dekina Local government, Kogi State, there is low
audience reception, participation, listenership and viewership due to poor standard
of living and poor power supply, which affects the number of people who gets
informed about preventive measure of Covid-19. Thus, this study aims at analyzing
the cause of the problem, evaluating various measures which a mass media
available to the residents of Anyigba community and how this challenge can be
resolved.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The general purpose of the study is to ascertain the influence of mass media
covid-19 campaigns aimed at combating Covid-19 Pandemic among Anyigba
residence and the level of responsiveness to such campaigns. But specifically this
study is;
1. To Identify various mass media channels available to the residents of
Anyigba
2. To determine the number of people who actively engage in listening and
viewing mass media programs and content in Anyigba.
3. To ascertain the level of awareness of Covid-19 pandemic among Anyigba
residents.
4. To find out the challenges in accessing media messages on covid-19
pandemic in Anyigba.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

The role of mass media in a given society is to inform, educate and entertain. Therefore, the mass media is responsible for the sensitization of the public about covid-19 pandemic. In Anyigba Dekina Local government, Kogi State, there is low audience reception, participation, listenership and viewership due to poor standard of living and poor power supply, which affects the number of people who gets informed about preventive measure of Covid-19.   2. What are the various mass media channels available to the residents of Anyigba community.
  3. What are the number of people who actively engage in listening and viewing mass media programs and content in Anyigba.
  4. What is the level of awareness of Covid-19 pandemic among Anyigba residents.
  5. What are the challenges in accessing media messages on covid-19 pandemic in Anyigba.
  6. What various measures on how mass media channels available to the residents of Anyigba can improve and increase audience participation and awareness about covid-19 pandemic. SCOPE OF THE STUDY This study focus on the place and role of the mass media in combating covid-19 pandemic among the residents of Anyigba. The location of this study is in Anyigba community, Dekina Local Government, Kogi State, and those to be studied are the residents of Anyigba. This study will last for a period of three months that is from September to November, 2020.
