Surfing the Internet
Definition:
Surfing the internet simply means to browse the World Wide Web searching
for particular things. It can also mean spending time on the net and not
searching for anything to be specific but just passing time. The user keeps
on jumping from one page to another for fun.
A process to explore the web on the internet through random browsing is
called browsing.
To browse or move from site to site randomly.
Importance:
Internet is very important in student because surfing internet can improve
our knowledge, skill, and ability. It makes students learn the new technique
of study, graphics designs and other education application.
The Internet is a helpful system for every kind of people. It can help the student in
various ways like: - it can help them to gather information on any subject. Now a
day’s student get project from the college Internet can help them to gather
information on the related topics. It can serve as an entertaining software as
there are game section which children can play there are many other ways in
which Internet can help students.
It is also useful for the Public. The main importance of the internet surfing is that
it has made information available in a quick and easy manner, publicly accessible
and within easy reach. It has revolutionized communications and social
networking, creating a zone which was so international that new law had to be
designed to govern it. People communicate, share data and work through the
internet all day. People communicate around the world whether for important
business matters or just talking to friends.

Surfing the Internet

Definition:

activities etc. with family and friends. For this, a smart phone is sufficient since it permits internet access along with all the functions of a mobile phone. Smart phones come with multiple functions and choices depending upon individual choices of model appearance, music features, camera functions, applications and email or chat facilities.

♦ Practical Surfing:

For many, the internet is a convenience since it helps to stay connected while on the move, to complete tasks associated with work, to get the latest updates, and even kill waiting time by listening to music or watching movies that can be downloaded. When surfing needs are for such activities, investing in a good laptop makes perfect sense. Such users would be spoilt for choice for laptops since there are numerous brands that would come into any budget bracket. Selecting the laptop is easy and the next step then is to get internet connectivity with a Pay as You Go plan or take a contract. As in the case of smart phones, some contracts provide the laptop free and there is a fixed monthly charge for a couple of years.

♦ Super Cool Surfing:

When surfing is more of a fixation and a fad meant to be kept up with,

and more to enhance the cool image than need based, the tablet computer is the ultimate need. Thus the iPad, the Samsung Galaxy and others, are the ones to be looked at. Here its more about style and much lesser about substance, and this forms the biggest chunk of the market. A price competition then is inevitable and all users in this segment want the smallest, coolest looking tablets. The iPad is the ultimate dream till others create a niche for themselves though it does require a SIM and its 3G version allows broadband internet connectivity, while the others use Wi-Fi.

Advantages and disadvantages of surfing

Surfing the internet allows a person easy access to information. Users can do research via the internet. Besides, they can exchanges news and ideas and make friends in 'chat rooms'. Moreover, they can receive advertisements on products and services available online. However, surfing the internet can be misused. This occurs when people use it source for immoral materials and to spread rumors and lies using 'chat rooms' facilities. This unfounded news may cause panic and unrest. Virtual friendship can also be 'addictive', time-consuming, deceptive and expensive. Furthermore, users are bombarded with genuine and bogus advertisements of products and services.

Use scanning to help you find information quickly. Here are some tips to help you improve and maintain your scanning speed without reading the text in any depth.

Keep clue words in mind:

  • Know your specific question and understand it.
  • Create a mental image of the fact, word, or phrase for which you are scanning.
  • If the fact, word, or phrase does not appear, be ready to look for synonyms or closely related ideas.
  • Use clues provided by the author.
  • Stay alert and keep that clear idea in your mind (repeating it to yourself if necessary) as you scan quickly through the text to find the necessary information.

Speed and Accuracy:

  • Move your eyes in a scanning pattern and don't stop to read until you find the specific information you are looking for
  • Your goal should be 100% accuracy
  • Use hand/finger movement to help you to move swiftly down the page. This will help you to ignore whole blocks of information which are not relevant to your question.
  • “Unfocusing your eyes" or using a soft focus may help you to avoid irrelevant material and see the information you want more quickly.

Why scan?

  • In simple material: to find particular names, facts, words, numbers, and specific information
  • (^) In less simple material: to find services, data, resources, when exact wording is not available
  • In complex material: to visualize and follow an argument, style, reasons, motifs, patterns, support for inference, evidence of sound logic/ reasoning, evidence of faulty reasoning, propaganda, and/or bias

Also, it is saved, without any virus, which means it saves your technology out of damages. Moreover, scanned images have copyrights, which dedicate to a person who has taken a picture. Therefore, no one else can own it. Another positive is that scanned image is what exactly you were looking for. However, the drawback of the scanned image is that it takes a long period of time to find it and to work with its shapes and tools. ■ The advantage of the picture from the internet is that it takes a short time to download it. Also, the internet image usually has a small format size, which is easy to work with in Photoshop. Also, in the internet, there is a big variety of pictures that you can take. However, in comparison with scanned image, an internet pic could be insecure, containing a virus which could affect on your
