BREAKING
LOS ANGELES--The Director of the Squid Game Museum has been declared dead at 10:30
AM at the hospital following a severe allergic reaction to dalgona candy he ingested at the
Honeycomb Challenge exhibit located in his own museum. Police suspect foul play was
involved, as the forensic testing revealed the presence of lemons in the candy--even though
lemons are not used in the production of dalgona candies for the interactive exhibit. Five
suspects have been apprehended since then, all of which are staff members at the museum
who had attended a “lemon” party at the museum a few days prior to the incident.
Jack Sparrow -
Nightguard. Comes in every night to watch over the museum exhibits and prevent any
break-ins due to the recent upsurge in the popularity of the franchise. Is a big fan of lemons,
and frequently chats with Sylvia Plathypus to discuss lemon cultivation. Doesn’t feel like he’s
being paid enough for the shift he works. Likes to drink lemon juice from lemon-shaped
squeeze bottles, to the dismay of the other lemon enthusiasts. The night prior to the
incident, he checked in for his shift at 7 PM and was busy guarding exhibits and checking the
security cameras until 7 AM the following morning.
Swanold Reagan-
Director of Game Exhibits. Responsible for organizing and setting up the interactive game
exhibits prior to the museum opening. Has a pet dog. Brought lemonade to the museum
party as refreshments for everyone to enjoy. Developed stomach pains after eating salt and
vinegar chips and drinking lemon juice at the party. Was supposed to be promoted to
Director of the museum, but was overlooked for [dead director] and has never liked how he
managed things. The night prior to the incident, [director of game exhibits] was setting up
the exhibits before checking out at 11 PM.
Winona Flyder-
Honeycomb Challenge Curator. Is responsible for preparing the dalgona candies for the
Honeycomb Challenge exhibit and running the exhibit during museum operating hours. Had
baked a lemon pie to bring to the lemon party. A great baker, but has been getting
increasingly annoyed with the Director’s unreasonable demands to bake things for him. The
night prior, she was busy preparing the dalgona candies for the next day and had left them
out to cool in the museum kitchen before heading home at 10:30 PM.
Kanye Nest-
Museum Janitor. Has a pet cat. Attended the lemon party and drank several bottles of lemon
juice because “it just tastes different” from the lemonade Swanold Reagan had brought,
despite bringing a packed lunch in Tupperware, and got a stomach ache soon after. Doesn’t
like the Director after he was disrespected by the Director when the Director purposefully
dropped trash in front of him instead of in the trash can. The night prior, he was busy
cleaning the museum after closing time and went home at 12 AM when he finished cleaning.

BREAKING

LOS ANGELES--The Director of the Squid Game Museum has been declared dead at 10:

AM at the hospital following a severe allergic reaction to dalgona candy he ingested at the

Honeycomb Challenge exhibit located in his own museum. Police suspect foul play was

involved, as the forensic testing revealed the presence of lemons in the candy--even though

lemons are not used in the production of dalgona candies for the interactive exhibit. Five

suspects have been apprehended since then, all of which are staff members at the museum

who had attended a “lemon” party at the museum a few days prior to the incident.

Jack Sparrow - Nightguard. Comes in every night to watch over the museum exhibits and prevent any break-ins due to the recent upsurge in the popularity of the franchise. Is a big fan of lemons, and frequently chats with Sylvia Plathypus to discuss lemon cultivation. Doesn’t feel like he’s being paid enough for the shift he works. Likes to drink lemon juice from lemon-shaped squeeze bottles, to the dismay of the other lemon enthusiasts. The night prior to the incident, he checked in for his shift at 7 PM and was busy guarding exhibits and checking the security cameras until 7 AM the following morning. Swanold Reagan- Director of Game Exhibits. Responsible for organizing and setting up the interactive game exhibits prior to the museum opening. Has a pet dog. Brought lemonade to the museum party as refreshments for everyone to enjoy. Developed stomach pains after eating salt and vinegar chips and drinking lemon juice at the party. Was supposed to be promoted to Director of the museum, but was overlooked for [dead director] and has never liked how he managed things. The night prior to the incident, [director of game exhibits] was setting up the exhibits before checking out at 11 PM. Winona Flyder- Honeycomb Challenge Curator. Is responsible for preparing the dalgona candies for the Honeycomb Challenge exhibit and running the exhibit during museum operating hours. Had baked a lemon pie to bring to the lemon party. A great baker, but has been getting increasingly annoyed with the Director’s unreasonable demands to bake things for him. The night prior, she was busy preparing the dalgona candies for the next day and had left them out to cool in the museum kitchen before heading home at 10:30 PM. Kanye Nest- Museum Janitor. Has a pet cat. Attended the lemon party and drank several bottles of lemon juice because “it just tastes different” from the lemonade Swanold Reagan had brought, despite bringing a packed lunch in Tupperware, and got a stomach ache soon after. Doesn’t like the Director after he was disrespected by the Director when the Director purposefully dropped trash in front of him instead of in the trash can. The night prior, he was busy cleaning the museum after closing time and went home at 12 AM when he finished cleaning.

Sylvia Plathypus Ticketmaster. Responsible for issuing tickets to museum visitors and controlling the number of attendees in the museum. Has lemon trees at home, and frequently talks to Jack Sparrow about how to grow and maintain them. Has a pet dog. Brought lemons to the lemon party for Winona Flyder to use in her pie. Has been on poor terms with the Director ever since he didn’t allow Sylvia to take a break following her mother’s passing. The night prior to the incident, Sylvia was cleaning up her booth and went home after the museum closed at 7 PM.

Paper Chromatography

Chromatography ID Source 1 Jack Sparrow 2 Swanold Reagan 3 Winona Flyder 4 Kanye Nest 5 Sylvia Plathypus A handwritten note saying, “Enjoy!☺,” was found in the packaging for the dalgona candy the director consumed. Pictured above are chromatograms made from the ink of pens that the suspects have frequently used. You were not able to obtain the physical chromatography image from ink the handwritten note but the lab was able to instead provide you with Rf values of the black and pink colors: 0.375 and. respectively Answer the following questions using the resources above.
