Scrum is flexible, which is great! But it can be tricky to figure out exactly what needs to be built sometimes.
This can lead to a few problems:
Unclear or incomplete requirements :
If there's no clear plan for what needs to be built, the team might not know exactly what to do. This
can lead to things being built wrong or missing important features.
Scoop Creep:
If the plan keeps changing, the project can get bigger and bigger. This can make it take longer and cost
more money than expected.
Communication breakdowns :
Ambiguous requirements can lead to misunderstandings between stakeholders (clients, developers,
etc.) and ultimately hinder project alignment.

Problem Statement

This research aims to:

  • (^) Investigate the impact of Scrum's light-touch approach to RE on project success.
  • (^) Identify common pitfalls teams encounter when managing requirements within Scrum.
  • (^) Develop best practices and recommendations for effective RE within Scrum methodologies.

Research Objectives

Literature Review: Examine existing research on RE in Scrum and related agile frameworks. Case Studies: Analyze successful and unsuccessful Scrum projects, focusing on their RE practices and resulting outcomes. Surveys and Interviews: Gather data from developers and project managers working in Scrum environments to understand their experiences with RE challenges and strategies.
