What is cholesterol? Cholesterol is a fat-like substance made by your liver. Two types of cholesterol: LDL or low-density lipoprotein and HDL or high-density lipoprotein. Triglycerides are the most common type of fat in your body and it store excess fat from your diet. How does cholesterol work, function, help, destroy or maintain your body? Cholesterol is used to make hormones, Vitamin D and bile. Low-density lipoprotein is sometimes call bad cholesterol because, it can narrow your arteries resulting to heart diseases and stroke. Try to keep LDL low. High-density lipoprotein is the good cholesterol that carries LDL away from your arteries back to your liver. High triglycerides along with low HDL and high LDL can also increase your risk for cardiovascular disease. Where can we find cholesterol? Food, chemical and other sources. How to lessen/control/manipulate cholesterol level in our body? Check your cholesterol score; priority. Eating a healthy diet, daily exercise, and stop smoking. Cholesterol and liver; how do they connect or interact? Liver produces the two types of cholesterol.
