Notes: In April 2015 this became 24-year-old English sing-songwriter Ed
Sheeran’s second million-selling single in the U.K., after 44 weeks in the Top 40
charts. The song was inspired by his girlfriend and the music of Van Morrison. The
music video features Sheeran dancing with ballroom dancer Brittany Cherry.

1. To revise the vocabulary referring to the human body, play Simon Says. Issue
instructions to the students, such as “Touch your head”… etc. they should only
complete the action if you preface the phrase with the words “Simon says”. Try to
use all of the vocabulary on this worksheet. Students can continue to play in pairs.
2. Play the song and ask students to listen for the parts of the body (they can list the
words or, more fun, touch the part of the body as they hear it).
3. Give each student a copy of the worksheet and ask them to complete the lyrics
with the parts of the body. They should be able to complete most of this without
listening to the song.
4. Play the song. Students check their answers.
Key: see complete version of the song below
5. Correct in open class, play the song again and sing together!
Grammar Focus Ask students to find examples of imperatives in the song.
