iPAUL Learning Continuity Plan: Distance Education Options for K-College Students, Study notes of English Literature

IPAUL is a learning continuity plan that offers alternative delivery modes for students without connectivity or gadgets. It includes printed learning materials for K-12 students and printed learning modules for college students. The plan also provides self-directed learning activities and on-screen resources for wellness, communication, and performance tasks.

I. Introduction

St. Paul University at San Miguel, as a Catholic educational institution,

advocates inclusive and adaptive teaching and learning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic

crisis. iPAUL the learning continuity plan of our institution offers and provides alternative

delivery modes ( Online Distance Learning, Modular Distance Learning, and Hybrid Learning) that will ensure No Student Left Behind.

The purpose of this Primer is to present to all stakeholders of St. Paul University

at San Miguel the plans, processes, policies, and details of the teaching and learning system

that will transpire this SY 2020-2021 in consideration of the pandemic that we are into.

The goal is not to recreate the traditional face to face class from 7:30 am to

4:30 pm but to continue the learning processes by meeting all the essential competencies

mandated by the Department of Education and the outcomes that SPUSM set for all its

students. Through iPAUL, SPUSM continue its mission of producing students who are:

All faculty members are undergoing various training to learn and master ways

and means as to how the mentioned modalities are to be delivered effectively and efficiently.

SPUSM strengthens its commitment to open the school year, embracing the challenges and

opportunities of these trying times.

III. Features ONLINE DISTANT LEARNING

For those with strong connectivity, with available gadgets and are willing to do online learning:

iPAUL is inclusive. In this time of pandemic all of our learners have special

needs and we are called to address them. iPAUL offers three modalities which cater to the

needs, contexts and situations of our learners based on the surveys that we have conducted.

HYBRID LEARNING

iPAUL is ADAPTIVE!

Truly, the pandemic crisis that we are facing right now has changed the world that

we live in; SPUSM as an educational institution is not spared from these dynamic changes. We

stand to proactively respond to the challenges and turn these into valuable opportunities to imbue

growth, resiliency, and hope among our stakeholders. We are adaptive! As we make our first

step into adaptive learning we hope to offer flexibilities to our learners.

The new teaching-learning system aims to deliver equal chances of learning to all

our students that is why every single learner may choose his/her own learning mode; and address

the contexts of both facilitators and learners to ensure that technical, pedagogical, and

psychological conditions are looked at.

We cannot change the situation, but we pursue on configuring out the keys to

radiate the Pauline spirit. Following is the overview of the length of school days and contact hours

iPAUL upholds UNINTERRUPTED LEARNING!

Faced with this pandemic crisis, the whole academic community of SPUSM works hand in

hand to start actions of bringing uninterrupted learning. Teaching and Office Staff are undergoing

several training to qualify themselves as facilitators in the different modes of learning, and be

able to design an on-and off- connected learning experiences. This school year is truly a

amidst the pandemic.

We shall formally open School Year 2020-2021 in August 3. First week will be spent for

orientation and adjustment to different modalities of learning. Discipline and development of

mindfulness and self-directedness are still on top of our priorities. Protocols and standards will

be discussed during the orientation. Please take note of the following schedules of Orientation

via Zoom, those who will not be able to attend the online orientation will be gladly accommodated

by SPUSM through small group discussions at your most convenient time:

Grade School Parents July 4 10:00 AM

Junior High School Parents July 4 3:00 PM

Senior High School Parents July 11 10:00 AM

College Parents July 11 3:00 PM

New Students July 18 10:00 AM

Old Students July 18 3:00 PM

As an additional feature, we also hired 6 personnel as online tutors for our K-3 students

(number may increase depending on the need) for we cannot deny the fact that some of our

parents are not always available at home due to other parental concerns or duties such as

attending to work (either local or abroad).

iPAUL is not a perfect program but we are assured that its beginning will lead us to

UNINTERRUPTED LEARNING because we are ALL into this.

We are INCLUSIVE, we are PAULINIANS, we are ADAPTIVE, we are all for
