To make use of BlackBoard Collaborate , your system must accomplish with the following requirements:
BlackBoard Collaborate only supports the two most recent stable versions of the following web browsers:
We recommend the use of Chrome on Windows, Linux, Mac and Android while Safari on iOS and iPadOS devices.
In the new page we will see a list of all the available BB Collaborate course sessions. You can see currently active and future sessions that are not yet available. To access a session, just click on it.
Another case is the one in which the teachers provide you with a session link via email or some other channel. In that case, you simply open said link to access the session and then enter your full name. We strongly recommend entering your full name to ease the teachers tasks.
In first place we will be requested to check our microphone and camera if available. If we are using an external microphone, it is important to choose it in the lower dropdown. To check if the microphone is properly working, you just need to talk and check if the volume bar moves. when you do so.
To check if the camera works, check if you can see the camera output on the frame. If there are several image recording devices, choose the desired one in the dropdown.
The class session is composed of four differentiated areas: the left lateral panel (1), central panel or working area (2), the left tools panel (3) and the sessions adjustments panel (4). This environment is similar to all the users which access the session, independently of the user role. The moderator is the only one allowed to access some session management tools.

Best adjustment: the content changes its size to better fit to the viewing area. It is shown as big as possible without modifying the aspect ratio.

To be able to share our desktop or a certain application is a powerful utility for showing the other participants how do we interact with an application or the navigation through our local environment, since this functionality will allow them to see all your steps.
You have to take into account that it is not possible to share the blackboard or archives at the same time as an application.
If you wish to only share one application, it would be enough if you just select the desired application on the pop up window that appears and click on ‘Share’.
Remember that to be able to ‘Share Application’ you will need the Blackboard extension for Chrome as previously stated.
As soon as we click ‘Share’, a new window will open in the background. THIS WINDOW MUST NOT BE CLOSED.
Collaborate Ultra supports the archive formats GIF, JPEG y PNG, PDF or PowerPoint slideshows.
The raised hands can be seen on the ‘Participants’ right panel. As the users raise their hands, they will appear by chronological order in the users list, so the teacher can always see who raised the hand first.
Once the meeting is over and the participants have left the session, we can exit through the ‘Session Panel’ and clicking on ‘Close Session’
Next, you will be presented a quality survey in which you will be able to rate some technical aspects of the session. If you do not wish to take part on the survey, just click on ‘Omit’.
Do not forget that if the session is still active, you can rejoin it by accessing it through Aula Global aulaglobal.uc3m.es or from the direct session link.
