6. ORIENTATION PROPER ABOUT CBT: (PRESENTATION PPT)

  • TRAINING APPROACH:
    • TRADITIONAL TRAINING APPROACH= This is the usual classroom style

most students/trainees are familiar with. Teacher-Centered, Instructor

does most of the talking and Students listen, take notes, and follow

lessons.

  • CBT (Competency-Based Training) APPROACH= This is the system

used in TESDA Programs. Learner-Centered, Learning by doing, Self-

paced, Assessment is through demonstration (actual performance)

THE 10 CBT PRINCIPLES

  1. “The training is based on curriculum developed from the competency standards” – all training activities are conducted with the end goal of achieving specific learning goals.
  2. “Learning is competency-based or modular in structure” – a learner must exhibit complete competency in one module before they can proceed to another competency.
  3. “Training delivery is individualized and self-paced” – learners are acknowledged to have different learning needs.
  4. “Training is based on work that must be performed” – training activities are always based on prevailing industry standards.
  5. “Training materials are directly related to the competency standards and the curriculum”

CBLM is a self-paced learning material used in TESDA’s

competency-based training. It helps learners achieve specific

competencies through step-by-step activities, practice tasks,

and assessments based on industry standards.
