what happens to them at the end of the movie (and why it happens)
Species
Habitat
Ending
Swomee swans
Forest of Trufulla trees
According to the Lorax, when
smog from the Once-ler's
factory’s chimney seeped into
their throats and forced them
lose their capacity to sing,
they flew away.
Barb-a-loots
Trufulla Valley
The Bar-ba-loots were forced
to leave and look for food
elsewhere since there was no
Truffula fruit left for them to
eat.
Humming fish
The lakes in the Truffula Tree
Forest
The Lorax had to make the
fish to leave because the
Once-ler's factory's "Gluppity
Glup" and "Schloppity
Schlop" pipes produced
harmful liquid into the rivers
where the humming fishes
live.
Lorax
Trufulla trees
Since there were no longer
trees to be saved, the Lorax
disappeared after taking care
of the evacuation of all the
animals from the wasteland.
Once-ler
Town / Lerkim
The Once-ler was ruined,
abandoned by his family, and
became a recluse after
harvesting the final Truffula
tree. The Once-ler was
heartbroken and felt
inexplicably responsible for
the forest's devastation.
A Boy
Town
Once-ler gave him the last
Trufulla seed, asking him to
plant it, grow it, and giving the

Once-ler Town / Lerkim The Once-ler was ruined, abandoned by his family, and became a recluse after harvesting the final Truffula tree. The Once-ler was heartbroken and felt inexplicably responsible for the forest's devastation. A Boy Town Once-ler gave him the last Trufulla seed, asking him to plant it, grow it, and giving the seed sunlight and water.
  1. Name some of the reasons the lorax gives for saving the trees. The Trufulla trees provides shelter and food for the inhabitants of the Trufulla forest. The Brown Bar-ba-loots who take shade under the trees and feed on the Trufulla fruits, Swomee swans that cannot longer sing because of smog seeping to their throats since there were no longer trees to filter the smog, and the lakes where the Humming fish lives were polluted by harmful liquid.
  2. Do you really need a thneed? Give examples of why the Once-ler thinks you do. No one would want something that results in devastation. But Once-ler’s ambition “Thneeds is what people needs”, this will help people live better and more satisfying lives. Thneeds come in a large variety of shapes and sizes for various applications, including: Shirt, Sock, Large glove, Hat, Carpet, Pillow, Sheet, etc.
  3. What is the Once-lers rationale for keeping the factory open and continuing to sell thneeds? That it is extremely useful to his customers, and that if it is discontinued, it would have an impact on them, and also because he believes it is the only thing that keeps his family together.
    1. Why was the word “UNLESS” left behind by the Lorax? "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." This means that unless someone cares about a situation, nothing will improve.
  4. Who does the Once-ler entrust with the last truffula seed? Why do you think it was given to this person? The Once-ler gave the last Truffula seed to the boy to plant and cultivate. Taking care of the forest's potential restoration and may result in the Lorax returning together with all the species that left the Trufulla Forest.
  5. Why do you think you never see the Once-ler’s face? Since not doing so represents faceless businesses and people that harm our environment. He's a stand-in for everyone who abuses our natural resources.

aid in the preservation of the earth for future generations. And respect for one another can coexist with economic success.
