Control Systems

Fall 2010

Time Domain Response…

General Rule…

Word Problems…

 Example 2:

 Gear trains are normally used for the transfer of torque equally from input to the output. Consider the case when a high torque is received at the output with 10% error in 2 seconds. Find the Transfer Function, Damping, Natural Frequency and Damped Frequency? Prove your answer on matlab using sgrid command.

Example 3

 A measure of the degree of instability in an unstable aircraft response is the amount of time it takes for its amplitude to be doubled, which is 9 seconds. If an aircraft makes an error of 4% to settle in stable condition, which required 14 seconds, indicate the pole locations on the s-plane. Find the Transfer Function, Damping, Natural Frequency and Damped Frequency? Prove your answer on matlab using sgrid command.
