technology. Hence the required service will be delayed.

problems as they cannot afford new or advanced technology. Therefore poor countries
need to be dependent towards developed countries for sharing global networks.
Volume of data: the volume of telecommunication information is increasing in a fast rate
that business people are unable to absorb it within relevant time limit.
2. Disadvantages of computer networks.
Cost: Network hardware is expensive to install and purchase. Small business network
hardware like routers can pose a threat to the small business ability to purchase them. In

ASSINGMENT

  1. Limitations of telecommunication in business. Cost of development : Requires huge investments for infrastructural development. Frequent change in technology also demands for further investments.

Legal status : Data or information is faxed, may be distorted and will cause zero value in the eye pf the law. Undelivered data : data may not be retrieved due to system error or fault with the technology. Hence the required service will be delayed. Dependency : technology is changing frequently and therefore poor countries face problems as they cannot afford new or advanced technology. Therefore poor countries need to be dependent towards developed countries for sharing global networks. Volume of data : the volume of telecommunication information is increasing in a fast rate that business people are unable to absorb it within relevant time limit.

  1. Disadvantages of computer networks.

Cost: Network hardware is expensive to install and purchase. Small business network hardware like routers can pose a threat to the small business ability to purchase them. In addition to hardware cost, network generally need regular maintenance and require a professional to design the layout there the organizational will require to hire professional or contracts rising the cost further.

Policing usage : The Internet in this generation contains a lot of information that one may think of. Thus, a tool that can foster undesirable behavior, it can distract the workers with humor sites and online games that could prove tempting for workers during office hours. A large network of machine could render illicit file sharing or instant messaging between workers and any attempt to shut done this site could lead to resentment among the workers. Hence, difficult to implement and enforce the policies.

Security difficulties: Since there are many workers using computers and sharing information among them, it’s always difficult to a certain if those login are the true user in case they know their colleagues security pass. This pose a huge threat to the data and information of the organization in case a workers has malicious motives.

Presence of viruses and malwares: The presence of viruses and malicious software has increased making the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the organizational data at higher risk. These increases the cost of securing the data by purchasing antiviruses and always screening for any potential threat

Lack of independence: Workers in most organizations with networked facilities always tend to be rendered in out of work if the network goes done. They become too reluctant to perform their duty without a network even in situation where a network is only there to facilitate efficiency e.g. a booking online system in a bus does that mean if the system fails a manual booking can’t be done

  1. Limitations on application of multimedia technologies.

Equipment failure: It requires more technologies to deliver a message compared to the traditional way. Whenever devices are used there is chance of equipment to fail. Since time is precious it will be a failure in the business to clients when the presentation equipment fail and technicians start trying or a device with a certain media is lost and a chance ensues.

Message distraction : Since the “message is the medium” it’s always great if it’s about selling the media but no so great if it’s trying to communicate on other topics. There is a danger in business communication that the focus shifts to the medium in a multimedia presentation instead of on focusing to the message. If this distracts from the message then it’s is a lot of time, energy and money spent on failed communication.

Lost productivity : Even with use of software making multimedia that make it easier to develop and incorporate into messages, it takes time. Considering the time that it to figure out the software, bring together quality images and sound bites and putting them together in a professional looking presentation. Comparing this to the rate of return you expect from the message and evaluate whether the time is well spent.

Multimedia quality : The quality of the multimedia you use in professional communication will say something about your company. Given that the multimedia clips can vary greatly in quality, you may be sending the wrong message inadvertently. Putting together a bunch of unrelated images or poorly recorded sounds can be annoying to those receiving the message

Expensive : The devices that are used in multimedia are too so expensive if one requires having multimedia of high quality. The purchase of this equipment’s does not guarantee good quality; giving an example where the personal operating is not qualified enough will definitely output less quality multimedia not only that the devices use secondary materials during production process; quality paper ink e.tc which ultimately affect.
