Vending machine case study.
A company has invented a smart card operated vending machine which sells pre-packaged snacks.
The company’s smart card is used as the only form of payment, no cash nor bank cards allowed.
Customers is anyone with a valid smart card.
Before a customer can buy a snack, he has to load money into the smart card which can only be done
through the machine administrator then the loaded amount will reflect on the machine when you
insert the smart card into the smart card reader. The customer will then select the snack, if the snack’s
price is below the smart card amount then the selected snack will be dispensed together with the smart
card.
The machine administrator is responsible for loading money into the smart cards and re-fill the sold
items into the vending machine.
The system must be able to sell an item, monitor the machine and notify the machine administrator
about any successful purchase or errors encountered.
