Question 1 Identify practical design guidelines that you would advise a firm to consider in developing their Website. In your answer take note of issues such as how users might read their Website; how to write for the Web; Website navigation, homepage and site- wide design; information visualization; and good interaction design practices. 33 marks Question 2 Write notes on any two of the following: (a) Emerging Web development trends and technologies (b) Managing Web-based information systems projects (c) Website design and technologies that defy good usability practices. (d) User behaviour and interaction on the Google search engine results page (SERP). 33 marks Question 3 “The choice of colour is an important design consideration for a Website.” Discuss this statement and outline the steps that you would take to ensure the choice of a suitable colour scheme for a Website. 33 marks Question 4 (a) Discuss some of the challenges of Website design and development and what, if anything, makes such Web-based systems different to more traditional information systems. 13 marks (b) Discuss the appropriateness of various development approaches to Web information systems development and briefly describe the stages of one Web and Multimedia development methodology such as Web Information Systems Development Method (WISDM). 20 marks Total: 33 marks
