Brief Background

Emergency dispatchers are dedicated professionals who serve as the vital link between individuals facing emergencies and the assistance they urgently need. They work in emergency call centers, responding to distress calls and dispatching the appropriate first responders, such as police, firefighters, or medical teams. These dispatchers undergo specialized training to handle high-pressure situations, manage incoming calls efficiently, and provide crucial instructions to callers until help arrives. Their background includes learning how to use specialized communication systems and staying calm under stress, as their role is pivotal in ensuring timely responses to various emergencies, ultimately helping to save lives and maintain community safety.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KPI’S

AND CSF’S

The difference between KPIs and CSFs is the difference between cause and effect:

  • CSFs are the cause of success, i.e., they set out what you need to do to be successful. These are often quite universal across the business world, and include things like good leadership, engaged employees, strong profits and so on.

Managing quality

  • Staff turnover
  • Staff participation Supply chain management
  • Suppliers reputation
  • Communication
  • conflicts Revenue
  • Sales
  • Gross margins
  • Output vs. inputs

In very simple terms, a KPI is a metric for measuring how well individuals, teams or entire companies are performing. Using such metrics, management can understand whether the business (or team or individual) is on the right track and where improvements might be needed. The very best KPIs are those that are linked to your strategic goals and priorities. There are literally thousands of KPIs out there and if you measured everything, it would be an utterly meaningless (not to mention expensive and time-consuming) exercise. So, you need to choose, focusing your efforts on those areas that really matter to the business.

INCENTIVES FOR PERSONAL

PERFORMANCE

KPIs are often linked to incentives. Teams or individuals are

offered an incentive to improve their KPIs to a particular level

during a specific time. For this to be successful, the KPIs must

be clearly understood and quantifiable, and reporting must be

accurate. The information provided by KPIs empowers people

to improve their own personal performance along with that of

the organization.
