Complete Baruch Application to Study Abroad and the exchange interview. This exchange was initiated by Baruch's Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, but is open to students of all majors. A visa application must be submitted to the Belgian Consulate along with the required documentation and the associated fees. Upon entry into Belgium, students must register at the Immigration Office of the host city. The host language of this part of Belgium is Flemish, a variant of Dutch. Exchange students are not required to take a foreign language course, but Dutch may be taken for liberal arts or free elective credit. There is a list of courses that have pre- approved Baruch equivalents in the study abroad database, but students should refer to the UGent website for other courses available in English. The faculty organizes a buddy program that pairs local students with international students. The local students welcome the international students, serve as guides for the school and the city, and are the first point of contact for practical questions. Exchange students may apply for accommodation in the University Halls of Residence. At that time, students will agree to the terms which can be found online.
