  • methods of scieific studies in the field of the ichthyology, the bathrachology and theherpethology, ornithology and the theriology. - prevention, management and restoration of the populations of rare and endangeredwild animal species. - study of the fossil vertebrate fauna and the development of the Bulgarian fauna inthe past. - knowledge and practical abilities in the study of the behavior and the psychology ofthe

vertebrates

from

the

basic

instinctive

behavior forms to the manifestation of mentalactivities in the higher vertebrates.

realization perspectives for the students.

rogram in Vertebrate

Z

oology

complements the knowledge attended in thebachelor´s course of education in the field ofthe biology, the ecology, the phylogeny, thetaxonomy, the ethology and the psychology ofthe vertebrates. The process of educationincludes the application of the acquiredknowledge and abilities in the protection andmonitoring of the endangered species, thebreeding and the use of the vertebrates asindicators of the negative changes in theecosystems and the environment.

The candidates must be bachelors in the professional

trend

BIOLOGICAL

SCIENCES.

The education lasts 3 semesters (terms) – the first two include auditory and practicalstudies, while the third is for making diplomawork under the guide of qualified scientist.The

rogram includes 10 obligatory and 2

elective (as minimum) courses. The wholeprogram

includes

hours

and

examinations.

On the base of the European system for transfer
