Places in books- article
Have you ever read the most popular Dan Brown’s novel “The Da Vinci Code”? I’m reading it
at the moment and I have to say that the places described are absolutely fascinating. The
entire novel takes place in Paris, which is already enchanting on its own accord.
The most important place, and the first to be described, is the Louvre, one of the most
popular museums in the world. It’s an incredible structure that dates back to the XIV century.
The museum is famous for its huge glass pyramid, which is really well described in the book.
When the main character, Robert Langton, enters the museum at 2:00 a.m, The atmosphere
is so mysterious that you’ll read it in a flash. The hallways are dark, lightened only by some
red security lamps. The silence allows Langton to hear his breath and his heartbeat.
The Louvre’s underground is very important to the story because a crime has just been
committed and Langton has to find who did it and why. He firstly is doubtful, but his
investigative sense won’t make him refuse.
Reading Dan Brown’s description made me feel like I really was in the Louvre’s
subterranean area: it’s like when you’re watching a captivating film and you can't detach your
eyes from it!
