StartUp MBA: Consulting 1
Our major partners are
GPS apps, like Waze,
Google Maps, Apple Maps
etc. The first one is the
most prominent one
because it already has
features that can
dynamically monitor the
traffic and congestions.
They are in charge of the
traffic monitoring, thus
providing essential
information to run our
software. Additionally,
they link our service to the
final users, the drivers that,
through a smartphone, can
experience a better, faster
and safer race.
Intralight requires two
major activities: a
communication between
the drivers and the
centralized system in order
to collect data about the
current traffic and a
connection between the
centralized system and the
driver in order to improve
the ride.
Differently from the current
solutions that require
hardware apparatuses and a
massive investment in
equipment, Intralight doesn’t
need new infrastructures. In
order to effectively work and
to provide tangible benefits,
our system requires only a
sufficient number of GPS
apps/smartphone users
Intralight can improve the
traffic by more than any
current solution in the market
due to its dual channel
communication between
drivers and traffic lights. It
can reduce air pollution by
intelligently dropping wastes
of time and it can limit the
effects of accidents. In this
way, our system provides
benefits to both the primary
customer, the government,
who is in charge of
externalities such as air
pollution and car accidents,
and to the final user, drivers,
who can save time and can
avoid congestions, which is
also the municipalities goal.
Our primary customers are
private companies within the
industry who are fighting to
remain competitive. Initially
we are willing to give our
system for free to do piloting
in specific locations. Once
benefits in terms of traffic
reductions and air pollution
decreases have been proved,
we will charge full price.
Our primary segment is
private companies who try to
stay competitive in the traffic
light systems industry. We
target this segment because
their vision is profit-oriented
and because our system can
provide a value proposition
that would strengthen their
relationship with
municipalities and that
allows them to differentiate
from other companies since
playing in a liberalized and
competitive market.
Furthermore, private
companies are easier to meet
and the decision making
process doesn’t go though
excessive bureaucracy
practices.
We will publish our technology
findings in industry related
magazine and blogs. We will
schedule several meeting with
different entities, either private or
public. Additionally, we will
recruit an industry expert, which is
well connected to the industry
decision making executives.
Our revenue stream composed of two channels - the software and a
subscription. The software will be sold to municipalities at a fix price
and each municipality will own the software, but not the rights. The
subscription model will generate monthly revenues from each
municipality who is using our software.
Our primary costs are due to the development of the software. No big
investment in equipment is required because our solution is based on
software optimizations and not on hardware modifications. During the
first stages, additional expenses might occur due to initial royalties paid
to private companies in order to persuade them to collaborate with us.
