Ecology, renewable

and non- renewable

energy and climate

change.

What is ecology?  (^) Ecology is the branch of science that studies the relationship between living organisms and their environment. It explains how plants ,animals and humans depend on each other to survive.

Why protect the

environment?

 Protecting the environment is necessary to:  Preserve biodiversity  Reduce pollution  (^) Protect human health  Guarantee resources for future genertions

Energy in modern society

 Energy is fundamental in modern life.  We use it for electricity ,transport, heating, industry and technology.  However, the way we produce energy has a strong environmental impact.

Solar energy  (^) Solar energy uses sunlight to generate electricity through photovoltaic panels. It is clean, abundant and increasingly affordable.

Wind energy  Wind turbines convert the Kinetic energy of wind into electricity. Wind farms can produce large amounts of power without emitting greenhouse gases.

Non-renewable energy

 (^) Coal  (^) Oil  (^) Natural gas  (^) Nuclear energy  (^) limited resources  (^) Non- renewable energy comes from fossil fuels formed over millions of years.  (^) These resources are limited and cannot be replaced quickly

Environmental impact

(problems)

 (^) Pollution  (^) CO2 emissions  (^) Global warming  (^) Burning fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases especially carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming and environmental degradation.

Main causes  The principal causes include:  Burning fossil fuels  Deforestation  Industrial production  Intensive agriculture  (^) Transport emissions  Humans activitiessuch as burning fossil fuels and cutting forests are main causes of climate change.

Consequences  (^) Climate change leads to:  Rising global temperatures  Melting polar ice  Sea-level rise  Stronger storms and heatwaves  Loss of biodiversity  The consequences include melting ice, rising sea levels and more extreme weather events like floods and

What individuals can do  Saving electricity  (^) Recycling correctly  Use public transport or bicycles  Reducing plastic use  Supporting green energy  Every person can help. Even small daily actions can protect the planet.

Conclusion  In conclusion, ecology teaches us that humans and nature are connected. By choosing sustainable energy and responsible behaviour, we can protect our planet for future generations. Protecting the earth is our shared responsibility.
