ENERGY

TARGET

By 2030 we should:  (^) Increase the share of renewable energy by 2030.  (^) Double energy efficiency by 2030.  (^) Increase international cooperation to facilitate access to research and technologies related to clean energy.  (^) Implement infrastructure and improve technologies to provide modern and sustainable energy services.

WHAT IS CLEAN ENERGY?  (^) The concept of clean energy is very broad, and includes three components that make it essential to be sustainable.

  1. Production: translates into renewable energies: solar, hydroelectric, wind, wave, biomass, geothermal, aerothermal.
  2. Plant efficiency: eliminating energy waste and improving plant efficiency means making an important contribution to reducing emissions
  3. Impact on the environment: an energy that minimizes, if it fails to eliminate, the factors of environmental pollution.

CLEAN ENERGY IN ITALY  (^) In Italy, in the last decade we have improved our energy status, which also means less waste, and brought the share of energy produced from renewable sources from 13 percent in 2010 to 18 percent in 2020. As regards the Italian indicator, the Report records an overall positive trend between 2010 and 2019, thanks to the improvement in the share of energy from renewable sources.

Cities situation In 2018, 4.2 billion people, 55 percent of the world’s population, lived in cities. By 2050, the urban population is expected to reach 6.5 billion but the real problem is energy consumption that is between 60-80% and cities occupy just 3% of earth’s land. The real deal is that this cities generate the 80% of global GDP (PIL) so we have to find out the right solution.

Contemporary problems In this last period the big density of people in the cities causes hotspots of Covid-19, infact it has been a big problem for this population’s distribution.

Solutions  (^) Make green spaces  (^) Control vestments (IOT)  (^) Allow smart working  (^) Reorganize buildings  (^) Use digital systems By Donghi Luca & Togni Tommaso
