Cooperation is the set of policies developed by a government or an international organization. Their goal is to create the required conditions for other countries economic, social and sustainable development and achieve the equality of fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals. Cooperation is often confused with humanitarian assistance, which is just a part of the community aid. Indeed, it deals with emergency situations and exceptional circumstances by helping those populations afflicted by natural disasters or wars.
One of the cooperation’s main goal is to produce long-terms benefits. To achieve this, it’s needed a detailed analysis of the territory and the creation of the so called "problem tree". But what matters most is making the community participate: in this way the beneficiaries can become autonomous by transferring knowledge and technologies. The policies involve several fields such as: education, food, agriculture, health, shelters for LGBTQ people taken from their families, rehabilitation projects for prostitutes who want to work (there’s a bunch of these kind of programs in Brazil), protection and recovering for indigenous culture.
