PROPOSAL
Introduction
This proposal is intended to explain why the ancient building in the city center should be preserved
and is aimed at giving ideas to modernise it.
Historical reason
One of the main reasons why the building should not be destructed is because of its history. It
dates back to Nazi Germany, so it is of paramount importance not to demolish it to testify the
destruction and the terror of the conflict when Hitler had that structure built to celebrate the
greatness and power of the German nation. Moreover, for its characteristics and majesty, it is still
studied and visited by historians.
A loss for the society
The building is located in the city centre: for this reason, it is accessible to all the inhabitants of
Berlin. Tearing down this building would mean losing a piece of the city’s culture that could never
return. By keeping it, it could become a museum and be an essential source of interest for young
students, as well as adults in the city and for tourists.
Improvements
It is obvious that the building is quite old-fashioned and needs restoration. It would require work on
the floor and ceilings, and I would also add lifts so that people with disabilities would not be
disadvantaged. To decorate it, paintings illustrating the history of the city could also be added.
Conclusion
Taking all of this into account, I suggest you take into consideration my proposal because it might
help our city.
REPORT
An instructive programme
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the worth of the three-week study and work programme I
took part in. What I will say is based on my personal experience.
An exclusive project
The programme as a whole was engaging and it helped me to improve my English level. As it
lasted three weeks, it was not like any other course I did before and the fact that I had to learn,
work and interact with people in English added that extra sparkle.
Pros
The part of the project I enjoyed the most was the games, through which I learned some common
sayings: this thing caught my attention because they are not conventionally taught in English
classes. I also appreciated how they made everyone participate in the course and how well they
interacted with us. The explanations seemed to be very clear to me and I will put the advice into
practice when I will work. Besides, the professionals seemed to me to be very prepared and the
teachers conveyed to me their passion for the language.
