Hamlet was the prince of Denmark and, when he returned home, he found out that his father, the king, was dead. Meanwhile, his mother had married his Uncle, Claudius, who now was the new king. In the castle it appeared a ghost who was the spirit of the dead king. He told Hamlet how he was murdered: Claudius put some poison in his ear. He also told Hamlet to take revenge. Ophelia, Hamlet’s girlfriend, tried to talk with him, but he became angry and decided to break up with her. A group of actors came to the castle, and Hamlet told them to change a part of their play. He decided to make them perform the murder of his dad, so that he could see Claudius’s reaction. Claudius interrupted the performance and went out very angry. When Hamlet tried to tell his mother who his father’s murderer was, he saw a foot under the curtain and killed Polonius, Ophelia’s father. She decided to commit suicide and her brother Laertes wanted to kill Hamlet. Claudius put a poison on Laertes’s sword and in a cup of wine. But in the end, Gertrude drank the wine, and the poison went to both Laertes and Hamlet. Hamlet killed Claudius but soon after he died too.
