IELTS Speaking Section 2 (28)
People (5)
1. Child part (also a family member or a neighbor)
I really like the feelings of a child, naïve, carefree, cute, so I always stay with my little brother.
The little guy I want to talk today. His name is Zhao Geyang and 8 years old now. He is really an
outdoor type boy and always makes some trouble like his peers.
He looks normal, just looks like other boy, but in my opinion he is really a gifted and unique boy.
He always asks me some strange or unusual questions that make me, a university student, feel
nothing to follow. Something like, how many legs do a centipede has. These questions always
boring me and actually I really don’t know the answer. After the question he will show me a
detailed answer. At rst, I really puzzled about the boy’s knowledge scope but then I get to know
something. His favorite program is the exploration and discovery on CCTV. The program tells a
science story or an archeology nding each volume. He is fascinated by the stories and
remembers most of them. Then the questions come out.
He is such a boy, I am sure someday he’ll be a scholar.
2. Adult part (also a famous person or a sports star or a happy person or admire or inuence and
so on)
When it comes to a famous person, some famous sports stars rst come to my mind, such as
the king of the formula one Michael, the 7 champions of tour de France Lancer Armstrong, the
conqueror of the NBA game Kobe and so on. Among them, Lancer deserves the most
appreciation. He is a legend to some extent. Admittedly, there are lots of players who achieve
more awards and champions than him but he is the unique one who not only triumphed over
cancer but defeated his competitions. I can hardly imagining how can a cancer patient can even
nish tour de France, the universally deemed as the most arduous bicycle competition. Every
time I see him on TV, he wears his usual smile even if he lost a game, he always says that he
really enjoys the competition.
More than a successful sports star, he is also a spirit leader to some people. His persistence and
willpower inspire lots of person to ght for their own dreams. His optimism also aects plenty of
losers to recover condence. He is a mould for me and his merits really aect me on most part
of my life.
3. Old person part (also a teacher)
As a Chinese saying goes, age makes a man wiser. I could not agree more. Senior citizens now
are a signicant group whose intelligence should not be ignored. Now I want to talk about my
Chinese teacher in the middle school who is now more than 60 years old.
He started his teaching career before I was born. It is now time for him to retire and soak up
what life oers but he choice not to. His Chinese classes which contain not only knowledge but
optimistic outlooks on life are full of wisdom. Every class is a crystal which we should treasure
up. He inuences me most on the viewpoint of how to seize beauty. When I was in the middle,
he taught us a lot about being happy with things even problem. His teachings make me believe
that the world is full of beauties and when I meet some problems I always try to handle it with
good mood. His edications lay a stable and positive foundation of my personality. Now I really
appreciate that I am one of his students. He is my spiritual guide.
4. A lm star
I enjoy all kinds of movies, such as action movies, science ction movies and documentary
movies and so forth. Also I enjoy many movie stars, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and so many. Among
them, Nicolas Cage is my favorite one.
5. A TV presenter
Subjects (12)
1. Bird (also an animal)
As my dorm building is surrounded by tall trees, I can hear them singing in the early morning
and see them dancing in the tree. But I really hold contradictious opinions about birds.
Sometimes they are boring, I feel that they always sing without any reasons, such as in the early
morning when I am still in sleep. Sometimes, they are so lovely. I used to enjoy the feeling of
surrounded by lots of pigeons in the square, which makes me felt like .
2. A present (also a toy or a handicraft or a work of art)

  3. Old person part (also a teacher) As a Chinese saying goes, age makes a man wiser. I could not agree more. Senior citizens now are a significant group whose intelligence should not be ignored. Now I want to talk about my Chinese teacher in the middle school who is now more than 60 years old. He started his teaching career before I was born. It is now time for him to retire and soak up what life offers but he choice not to. His Chinese classes which contain not only knowledge but optimistic outlooks on life are full of wisdom. Sometimes, they are so lovely. I used to enjoy the feeling of surrounded by lots of pigeons in the square, which makes me felt like.
  2. A present (also a toy or a handicraft or a work of art)
  3. A book (a popular game in children) Now I still treasure a book given by my parents. When I was 7 years old, I went to primary

school and started to learn English, my parents gave me the book full of crossword puzzle games, a little harder for me that time. Every day when I went back home, I challenged one part. At first, it was a totally disaster. I can hardly filled even one word. I was frustrated and wanted to give up. Actually you know this game was very popular that time, of course, the Chinese edition. So in order not to fall behind, I kept on working on it. Fortunately, it really works. I always won in the competition with my friends later. I think the game taught me far more than some new words. I had to pay full attention to it when filling a cross and that made me fill the habit of concentration. And then, the game taught me to be attentive and persistent, not easily say I cannot. Thanks to the book and the game, I think they sharp my personality to some extent.

  1. Sports (also a way to relax) I am a big fun of football and volleyball. I also really like Frisbee game very much but after I came back from Hong Kong as an exchange student, I failed to find a team to play with. I like these sports as they all teamwork courses. I really enjoy the cooperation and collaboration during the game. And furthermore, these sports can relax me from daily pressure. After playing, I will take a shower and go to sleep sweetly. Next morning, I always feel recharged. Actually, I am crazy about all kinds of automobile races, like Moto GP, F1 or WRC. Unfortunately I don’t have opportunity to try it so I can just enjoy the fun in the computer games or the TV lives instead. I think sport is a significant part of my university life. Now thanks to sports, I have a robust body and plenty of friends, I feel free to communicate with unfamiliar people. Sports now for me are not only habits but ways of life. I enjoy these feelings and the games.
  2. Film (also a TV program)
  3. An advertisement The ads really have some relation with my major, I once had a course called introduction of ad and it was fascinating. When it comes to my favorite ad, it is really hard to say because we are now living in a world where ad is becoming increasingly important and more widely used. If I have to choose one, I think the ad of so the called hope project move me most. The most famous picture of the series is a girl with big and bright piercing eyes. Her eyesight moved nearly every one and successfully disseminated the aim of the project—to help those needy children who even do not have many to attain to primary school. I was very young when this ad first published, and now, as I am a university student, the picture for me is still moving. And in my final essay of my ad course, I chose this ad as the example of my demonstration.
  4. A law I used to take a course called the introduction of journalism legal institution which taught us how to protect our obligations when we became journalists. Actually I am not really good at handling law problems. I am always puzzled by the law clauses. In the course, professor took nearly half of the semester to introduce the labor low of PRC.
  5. An organization (also a subject)
  6. Vehicle (also a national product)
  7. Newspaper or magazine (also a website)
  8. An exhibition (also a photo)
  9. A flower I do like flowers very much. First time I fall in love with flower when I took one of my photographic courses. The topic is to photo a flower. It is really the first that I found the flowers can be such beauty. I felt self-accusation that I ever missed so much beauty of the world. Now I like lots of flowers, such as peony, jasmine, carnation, China rose and so on. But my best love is the kaffir lily which is the symbol of Changchun. This flower has a really noble name, in Chinese the kaffir lily is called Junzilan, which means the flower is a brand of gentlemen. And in ancient China, this kind of flower was the only flower which can be placed near the emperor, sounds ridiculous but that is it. Actually in my point, I don’t think it is the most beautiful one, which just has some leaves with a not brilliant annual flower, but it is, of course, the most symbolic one. Many ancient Chinese regarded it as the symbol of their nobilities. Now I regard it as my symbol, that mould of gentle is what I aspire.

Place (6)

  1. Favorite room (also a place you live or so) There is no doubt my favorite room is my own bed room which designed by myself. My home is located in the downtown area. Unfortunately now I live in dorm and can just enjoy about three months there during vacation times. I don’t have much furniture in my room—one desk, one

although I am now busy with study and don’t have time to go there often. There are swimming pool, tennis playground, table tennis field, a yoga room and many physical exercise equipments. It is located in Wu Huan stadium, very close to my university. I used to walk there and exercised for about 1hour. After that I took a shower and went back to my dorm, then a sweet dream.

Incident (5) Done

  1. Wedding (also a cultural difference) When I was in Hong Kong as an exchange student, I was invited to a wedding banquet surprisingly. It was my photography tutor’s wedding ceremony and I think that kind of classical western wedding ceremony is totally different from traditional Chinese weddings. It is the consequence of the cultural difference I think. The clothes, first of all, are different. My teacher wore western style business suit while his wife wore white wedding veil, that different from Chinese traditional both in color and design. Then we shared cakes and champagnes while Chinese weddings are not. The oath and exchanging of wedding rings came later with all guests’ blessings. All these made it a romantic ceremony. I was the photographer of the ceremony, you know, I had just learned these skills from my tutor, I used them. The wedding ceremony was the most exciting part of my Hong Kong experience. I witness the cultural difference and enjoyed a western style wedding. It was fascinating.
  2. A traffic jam (also a long distance trip) I always take trains or planes when I go to somewhere faraway, so actually I have not experience lots of traffic jams, in my memory I can only come up one time. It was about 5 years ago, I was on my trip to Qingdao, a well-known harbor city in my hometown Shandong Province, that jam stopped my trip. Because of the thick fog, we had to stop at a rest area to wait for the reopen of the expressway. Fortunately I was together with my friends, if not, I really doubt whether I can find something to kill time. At first we really felt boring, then we started to find some fascinating things, finally we chose to play card. We played cards with unique punishment, the loser had to do some strange expressions or postures, I was lucky that day cause in the end we became the one of the hour. All our trip group members saw us and laughed. I think the entertainment made the time a little faster. About 4 hours later we started off. It was really a memorable experience. The long trip was not so long cause of us.
  3. An extreme sport (also a cooperation project) Even till today I still remember the extreme experience when I took part in a summer camp with my friends about three years ago. The camp was called the extremity and cooperation which aimed to strengthen our consciousness of challenge and collaboration. My best friend and I worked cooperatively to send a bottle of water to the destination. We had to climb up and down and the most challenging barrier was a deep and wide gap, although I wore a safety belt, I still felt shiver. I got the barriers and then my friend faced more challenging gaps. I had to help him to keep balance or get out of holes. Fortunately we succeed in the end. It is really a memorable adventure. Our coach told us that adventure is not outside a man it is inside. I learned more. I felt the power of cooperation and I always join some workshop nowadays to work or to study with my schoolmates. That makes me feel good and I should thanks to the experience. It let me recognize the significance of cooperation and challenge.
  4. A science lesson (also an important change) I major in journalism and communication which is a subject of humanities. But actually I am really a big fun of science. Thanks to my poor physics score I final choose this major. I used to hate physics but now I am totally changed by a course in my university. The course is called the introduction of cosmic physics, a favorable elective course. My roommate invited me to the class and then I fell in love with the class. The professor told stories about planets and explained the source of the names, some are from ancient Geek epic and some are part of ancient Roman myth, these are the most fascinating part of the class. And furthermore he told us some basic principles of this subject which also interesting. I have to say the lesson is an important change for me. I totally changed the attitude of physics and I am now conscious of the importance of a wider knowledge horizon. I start to know that all principles share some common things and these are the information I should know.
  5. An enjoyable visit Even till today I still remember some details about last year’s Hong Kong and mainland student summer camp which was hold by my university. Fortunately I was a member of the camp as an exchange student who ever studied in Hong Kong for a semester. About 20 friends from Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Chinese University or City University of Hong Kong came to Changchun. We together enjoyed the snacks and visited Jingyue protection zone, then we left

Changchun to climb the Chang Bai mountain. It was really a fascinating trip, we enjoyed hot spring and saw the lake on the top of the mountain. We camped together and talked about our daily lives, we all surprised about the cultural differences between us. My Hong Kong friends all felt miraculous about the natural scenery which of course will never exist in Hong Kong, the busy and crowd metropolis. We are good friends till now and often chat online. The visit experience and the friendship are treasures and I am sure I will miss them.
