TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION
PROS CONS
Do web research to study For example, a laptop is a distraction in a
classroom, because they can use it not for
study but to do something else
Technology means innovations, so we can
use a lot of devices for example: palm
organizers, spelling checker, cd players
Stay at home without meet other people
We can write email to communicate,
whenever we want
When we do online lessons, it is so
difficult because we cannot see each
other, and because there is not
conversation
We can use other element to
communicate for example emoticons,
stickers, gifs etc..to express our feelings
and emotions
The use of certain devices has an influence
on our health, for example posture or eyes
etc.
INTERNET
This article and the video that we saw, is about the use of internet and the linguistic revolution. But what’s
EMC (electronical mediated communication)? It’s another way to communicate, so a linguistic revolution.
There are differences between emc and speech (communication, conversation) and between emc and
writing or signing. During a conversation there are feedback, that are fundamental between the
participants, but in EC there aren’t feedback, for example in e-mails. While EC permits multiple
simultaneous conversations that are impossible in normal conversation life, or in writing we can modify our
message, so It’s dynamic and changeable.
When we observe the impact the EMC has in grammar, vocabulary, we can say that there isn’t a revolution
but the only area that is revolutionised is orthography, because we can use other elements such as
emoticons, stickers, gifts, escalations mark to emphasised what we what to say. We can talk also about the
use of abbreviations that are not modern inventions, and they are not used in schoolwork and
examinations. Another important innovation are blogs, that is like writing in a diary, because there is a
owner that he can write what he want, for example like writing a book.
An educational goal is to teach children how use this kind of communication, in this society that is changing.
